FRESH ART THIS FRIDAY 🐉🏀 Two artists. Two styles. FUUUUUSIOOOOONN 👉👈 “SPECIAL BEAM CANON” A collaborative exhibition by @jeswri & @gonketa_ themed entirely around #dragonball 🐉🏀 We’ve bonded on our shared love of pop-culture and in our opinion, the easiest way to learn a new language is to talk about something you’re both interested in. Our studios are opposite each other at @honeybonesgallery and we started by leaving canvases at each others doors, being like ‘your turn’ — we just kept producing Dragon Ball themed artworks. Fast forward a few months and we’re less than a week out from the exhibition, with over 15+ artworks themed entirely around a bunch of kids finding magic orange balls to summon a dragon who grants wishes. From the artists — more than often, as artists & creatives; we both grow tired of producing ‘commission based artworks’ and to be able to make art that feeds the soul, artwork based on the manga/anime that inspired us to be artists in the first place; shout out #CHEEZTV & the legend Akira Toriyama who’s artworks we’ve paid homage to.
