New kitchen at 113 West 19th is coming along nicely.
We like the stained Maple Smart Cabinets from @williamskitchen . Manufactured in the Midwest and distributed locally from Williams Kitchens on Blue Star Highway. This is an in-stock cabinet so we don’t need to wait weeks or months for this cabinet. This is important as we wait until drywall stage to do a final measure because 100 year old homes are full of surprises.
Quartz from our local fabricators at Gomez Granite. 2 days was their turnaround from making the on-site template to install. They’re amazing. @gomez_granite

Since 1996:
✅ awarded 875 grants to homeowners in Holland’s downtown neighborhoods to maintain their homes.
✅ $1.508 million in grant funds awarded to those homeowners.
✅ Funded by private businesses and individuals who want to see our beautiful downtown neighborhoods maintained and want to help homeowners with income constraints. ✅ Our grant averages 1/3 of the total project cost. This means our relatively small contribution is what is needed to make the project proceed after the homeowner puts their funds in.

Our friends at Grand Glass Block completed a great block wall repair at 113 w 19th.
They stabilized displacement of the front porch block with mesh and made it look great with a parging coat.
The new glass block windows also look great.

Only $5 annually for Westcore neighbors and $25 for everyone else. Power washers, electric lawnmowers and edgers, table saws, almost anything you can think of to maintain your home.
They are also open to donations of your tools so keep them in mind if you are downsizing or culling duplicate tools from your collection.

This 3 bedroom, 1 bath home will be complete and available for purchase early summer. The extra room upstairs does not have an egress window so it is not a 4th bedroom…but it has our first ever skylight installed in a Homecor home.
It takes months to build and only a day to tear down. Working on the permit application and plans for the new home we will be starting soon at 307 w 14th.

We have built new homes, we have partially demolished one house, we have rebuilt collapsed foundations, completed more than 50 full house renovations, and we have never found a house beyond saving…until now.
As we wrap up our 29th year, thank you to our donors who allowed us to impact another 29 homes this year. Our grant is often the final piece in the financial puzzle that allows a critical home improvement to proceed.

Our two new construction homes in partnership with @bosgraaf_homes are finishing up.
We found the homesites. Bosgraaf provided the floor plan, design, and project management. Their purchasing power and team of trade partners made it happen and we are excited to welcome two families to our downtown neighborhoods. Both homes are sold!
