🏃 It's been a sporty week at Holmes Aotearoa! Our Ōtautahi office took part in the @runningeventsnz Corporate Challenge 5km, and some of our Tāmaki team tackled the @aucklandmarathon !
One of the team completed their first marathon, and many others ticked off their first ever half marathon. No matter the distance, well done to everyone who put in the mahi 🏅
✨ Mānawatia Te Wiki o te Reo Māori! | Happy Māori Language Week! ✨
🎉 This week we are celebrating 50 incredible years of the Te Wiki o te Reo Māori movement. In those 50 years, we have seen huge growth in terms of integrating te reo into our lives and workplaces.
🔎 This week we are learning about the whakapapa of each of our offices, and discovering some of the history behind the te reo names of our workplaces. We acknowledge that history and stories may vary between hapū and iwi, so for further information or clarification, reach out to your local mana whenua.

Happy Lunar New Year! The Spring Festival 🌱 is celebrated today, January 29, but Lunar New Year festivities traditionally last for 15 days. Marking the arrival of spring, the Lunar New Year holds deep cultural significance across Asia, as it is rooted in the agricultural cycle. While traditions vary, the New Year signifies fresh start and hope for a more prosperous year ahead.
🐍 Year of the Snake 🐍
Snakes are regarded as little dragons 🐲 (xiaolong 小龍), and the skin snakes shed is referred to as the dragon’s coat (longyi 龍衣), symbolising good luck, rebirth and regality. The snake also symbolises the pursuit of love and happiness ❤️- a theme beautifully illustrated in the traditional folk tale, ‘The Legend of the White Snake’. The snake can also represent wealth 🧧 and wisdom.
