It’s no secret that Hollyjmakeup is a love letter to the world of business. If you know anything about me, you know that before I ever put a brush to a clients face, I was a finance & business girlie first.
With degrees in finances and economics, I’ve studied college courses on management, marketing, advertising, accounting, and every other business topic you could think of.
I was the first finance intern for one of the largest globally growing financial tech and insurance brokerage firms. I worked in their treasure, capital markets and financial planning and analysis teams before being hired on full time by them. I specialized in accounting before pivoting to managing logistics operation for a company based in my city.
After all of this I realized I just loved business. And j was good at it. I started Hollyjmakeup to blend my two worlds: my hobby of makeup and my education and careers in business. At 22 years old I started Hollyjmakeup, transitioned to it full time, and surpassed my 9-5 income—all in the span of 21 months.
Building Your Signature Identity is the blueprint I use and coach other business owners to start, establish and grow their brand. This course isn’t just business, it’s branding. You can have the best product or service in the world, but if you can’t market it, you will go no where. It’s been a while since I’ve properly introduced myself and there’s a lot of new friends here, so welcome! My name is Holly, I am a makeup artist, business owner, and business mentor! I have degrees in business (finance and economics) and past corporate work experience, and have loved using all of it to build my own business.
I am passionate about helping women feel their natural beauty in a world that’s designed to constantly try to steal it. In an industry that teaches a beauty standard just to sell you the solution, I want to be a breath of fresh air. Even in the makeup community, so many artists buy into this lie and further a false beauty standard by editing, photoshopping and filtering their work & clients. At Hollyjmakeup, what you see is what you get. Authentic work & honest advertising because truthfully… my work doesn’t need any digital critique in order the stand out.
I love the people I get to meet, the memories I help make, and the empowerment I get to bring women. It’s not about the makeup, it’s about truly connecting with the beauty and confidence that’s already there.
Outside of work, you can find me at the beach, traveling, hanging out with my friends, reading, playing piano, gaming, winning Catan… pretty much anything to avoid washing my own personal makeup brushes 🫠🤭
