The many moods of Oculus. 🌀✨ One stage, infinite frequencies. We designed the Oculus to be a vessel for sound, and these artists took us on a journey through every corner of the electronic spectrum: @answercoderequest Answer Code Request: Pure, driving Berlin energy that felt like it was made for the cave’s acoustics. @oliviaxiaolin Xiaolin: Lush, cinematic textures that turned the structure into a living, breathing instrument. @monophonikmusic Monophonik: A masterclass in modular exploration. The hardware felt right at home in our bamboo grid. @emel.onlyjams B2B @saintguel Emel Rowe B2B Saint Guel: The ultimate groove. The energy was infectious from the first beat to the last. Architecture is just the shell—the music is the soul. Thank you for bringing the Oculus to life. They say the eyes are a window, but we built a portal in a cave. 🦇👁🌀💃 A massive thank you to the build crew who put their hands, hearts, and vision into this project. Every bolt, piece of rattan, and bamboo pole holds the memory of the long hours and the shared laughs that got us to the finish line. Connection begins the moment we see the same dream with open eyes. The Team: @ngan_do11 @izzynom @andreiokolokoulak @tuantuandatmaichau And the rest of the incredible crew! IYKYK Stage Design: @solar.punk.studio @culm.innate From the first sketch to the final dance, thank you for seeing this through. 🥂

The Oculus stage: where architecture meets the frequency. 🌀👁 We designed this space to be more than just a booth—it was a portal for some of our favorite selectors to push boundaries. Seeing these three bring the structure to life was a highlight for the whole team: @yousukeyukimatsu ¥ØUUK€ ¥UK1MATU: A masterclass in controlled chaos. The energy during this set was unmatched. @di.linh.hn Di Linh: A local legend who knows exactly how to command a dancefloor. Pure class. @sunjuhargun Sunju Hargun: Deep, psychedelic, and perfectly dialed into the cave’s acoustics. Thank you to the artists and the dancers who stepped through the Oculus with us @equationfestival 🦇 Stage Design: 🎨👁 @culm.innate @solar.punk.studio Lighting Design: 💡 @humanspectrum.collective Photography: 📸 @ya.neon #equationfestival #stagedesign #bambooarchitecture #festivaldesign #festivalproduction

Architecture meets Art. 🛠️✨💃 Huge love to Genderfunk and Peach for their electrifying takeover at Equation 2024. Our stage design was just a frame—these performers were the masterpiece. They brought a new level of life and presence to the structure that we couldn’t have imagined on a screen. Truly an unforgettable collaboration between design and performance. The Gender Funk Takeover 🕺💃 @genderfunk The Gender Funk crew redefined the energy of the build from the moment they stepped out. Their radical self-expression and avant-garde aesthetic acted as the perfect counterpoint to our structural lines. Watching them navigate the levels of the stage transformed the geometry into something living, breathing, and delightfully chaotic. They didn’t just perform on the stage; they made the architecture part of the choreography. The Peach Presence🍑 @peachhanoi - @dapdiu.draghaus Then came Peach, bringing that unmistakable Hanoi underground edge. While Peach is a collective of queer art and drag performers, they brought a specific confidence to this collaboration through their work with Dập Dìu Drag Haus. It was the perfect synergy: one provides the space and opportunities, while the other brings their A-game in the art of drag. Their performance was a masterclass in atmosphere, blending high-fashion silhouettes with a presence that gave our design a chic, polished soul. Designing for festivals is always about the "what if," but seeing these two collectives take over was the ultimate "why." Thank you for bringing the "Funk" and the "Peach" to our OCULUS. @equationfestival 🦇 Stage Design:👁 @solar.punk.studio @culm.innate Photography: @ya.neon 📸 #equationfestival #stagedesign #performanceart #FestivalProduction #festivaldesign

Form meets Light with @humanspectrum.collective 👁💡🌀 When we designed the collagen-inspired lattice for "Oculus," we knew the structure was only half of the story. The true magic lies in the transparency—the way light travels through the voids of the differential growth patterns. Working with Human Spectrum, we treated light as a physical building material. Their lighting design doesn't just sit on top of the stage; it breathes through the topography. This partnership continues to push the boundaries of how we perceive the built environment—transforming modular fabrication into a living, sensory experience. Special thank you to all the members of Human Spectrum collective who worked with us to bring Oculus to life. From Collagen to Construction: The Anatomy of "OCULUS" 👁️✨ How do you translate the transparency of a human cornea into a physical stage? Our design process for Oculus was a journey through biomimicry and algorithmic growth. The 4-Stage Evolution: 1️⃣ Biomimicry: We looked at the extracellular matrix of animal tissues. In the cornea, collagen fibrils form a precise, lattice-like pattern to ensure transparency. 2️⃣ Differential Growth: We utilized a Differential Growth Algorithm to simulate how these fibrils develop. By tuning the parameters, we replicated how organic tissues organize themselves into uniform, functional patterns. 3️⃣ Topography Contours: Those organic growth patterns were then mapped onto topographical contours, bridging the gap between digital math and physical terrain. 4️⃣ Fabrication: Translating the lattice into a modular, structural reality through the use of natural materials. Mathematics meets biology.🌀 Photography 📸 @ya.neon Design for @equationfestival 💃🦇 Designed by @solar.punk.studio @culm.innate Lighting by @humanspectrum.collective 💡 Special thank you to @ouissam.jpeg , @minhhhhh.ng , and @di.linh.hn for trusting our creative vision 🫰👁🫰 #stagedesign #biomimicry #parametricdesign #festivaldesign #generativedesign

Natural meets neon. 🎋🎈@karmaklique We built this world out of bamboo and air to create a space as unique as the artists taking the stage. Honored to have some of our favorites bring this structure to life: @djgonno – A unique ability to blend high-energy techno with soaring, psychedelic melodies made the UFO stage take flight. @yoshiyosh2023 – His set was a deep, cosmic journey, we still listen to today. @ruralatsushi – Brought an Uplifting energy to the stage that made the UFO travel to pocket dimensions. #BambooArchitecture #Scenography #OrganicDesign #FestivalSetDesign #EphemeralArchitecture

From raw bamboo poles to a floating UFO over the booth. 🛸 This is how we built our main stage for @karmakliqueofficial Festival using sustainable materials and a little bit of atmospheric magic. 🎋✨ We wanted to challenge the perception of stage design by blending an organic bamboo structure with inflatable art. The goal was a true 'eco-futurism' aesthetic: hand-lashed frames that completely disappear once the internal lighting hits the custom inflatables, making the whole thing look like a massive, hovering spacecraft.
