My look for @camhouston queer teen night, had so much fun reading fortunes for the youths in full kumquat glam
This was really special for me to be Kumquat in this space because I remember vividly being a queer teen and coming to the Camh and seeing a Tameka Norris video installation and the site of a performance she did, and I remember that being the first inspiration I had to pursue performance art, I can only hope I was able to make a full circle and inspire the teens last night even if it’s something as simple as not taking life too seriously and just having pride in being yourself 🫁
So excited to announce I’ll be acting in @thecatastrophictheatre 24-25 season production of “Spirits to Enforce” by Mickle Maher, I’ll be playing the part “Brad Allen/ The Snow Heavy Branch/ Alonso”! So honored to be able to work with @jsnodler again and the iconic catastrophic company! Support ur local theatre!!!!

The dress will be on display at @5301.18a starting June 8th with @loverworld.mp3 screening of “Paris is Burning” through the end of the pride month with several other amazing events!! began all this back in late 2022. Was surreal then and is just now starting to feel like reality. 10 year old me who just started theatre would be too proud. At the time I couldn’t have imagined the journey this would take me on but god I’d do it all again.
learned how to look at myself. Learned how to dance. Learned how to grieve. Learned how to do my makeup. Learned how to touch. Learned how to look at someone else. Learned how to cry. Really cry. Learned how to tuck. Learned how to love.
I will never forget this experience. I will never forget you Zachariah. I will never forget feeling the light on my face. I’m forever changed but you know what…….”I like it”
