Magpie is officially at SMF ✈️🍽️ You’ve probably been to their Midtown spot… a true Sacramento favorite, known for incredible food and seriously talented chefs. They just opened in Terminal A (post-security), and it’s one of those places you’ll want to build in time for. I may be going a little too often for the carrot cake cookies, but honestly everything on their menu is amazing. Another local favorite, now at SMF.

Terminal A now has not one, but TWO new Starbucks… and they’re not your typical grab-and-go. Both locations (pre-security and post-security) are part café, part market, meaning you can sip your latte AND shop Sacramento all in one stop. 👀 pre-security: Sycamore Market ✈️ post-security: Golden Grove Marketplace And the best part? Our “Shop Local” section is packed with Sacramento favorites like Ginger Elizabeth’s chocolates, The Bee Box honey, Carmazzi Caramel Corn + more. So yes, you can literally take a piece of Sacramento with you.

Today at SMF, we marked something that has been in the works for a long time. In Terminal A, we officially cut the ribbon on several new places to eat and gather before a flight. Director of Airports Cindy Nichol was joined by Supervisor Phil Serna, Supervisor Patrick Kennedy, our partners at HMSHost, and the restaurant teams who helped bring these spaces to life. But the moment wasn’t really about the ribbon. It was about what these restaurants represent. For us, bringing food into the airport has never just been about filling space. It’s about making sure that when people pass through SMF, they get a real sense of the region they’re traveling to or from. The flavors, the people behind the businesses, the feeling of the place. That’s why seeing Sacramento favorites like @magpiecafesacramento , @centrococina , and @newhelvetiabrew inside the terminal matters. These are restaurants built here, by people who are part of this community, now serving travelers from all over the world. Our partners at @hmshost helped make it possible to bring these local concepts into the airport in a way that works for travelers while still keeping what makes them special. After the ribbon cutting, guests had the chance to walk through the spaces, meet the owners, and try a few samples from the menus. It felt less like a formal ceremony and more like the beginning of something new for Terminal A. For the millions of people who move through this airport each year, these places will simply become part of the rhythm of travel. A pre-flight meal. A quick drink. A familiar Sacramento stop before heading somewhere else. And that’s exactly the point.
