【A landmark gift 重磅捐贈】 . The Hong Kong Museum of Art has recently received a landmark donation of over 2,000 artworks from Muwen Tang, marking the largest single gift in the Museum’s history. This extraordinary collection primarily centers on Qing dynasty Cantonese and export art and includes over ten distinct categories, such as export paintings, silverware, painted enamels, lacquerware, textiles, carvings and timepieces. These artworks highlight the remarkable craftsmanship of Guangdong at the crossroads of East and West. . To honour this donation, the Museum has designated the “Muwen Tang Gallery of Cantonese and Export Art” for displaying these important works. Ng explored the city at night to capture its ambient sounds for his multisensory installation, while Hui collaborated with local metalsmiths to create a wrought-iron window frame in the spirit of Hong Kong’s old architecture. 【First In-Residence 首度駐場】 . Featuring an open studio for the first time, the “Live: Hong Kong Art Exhibition” invites a number of artists to engage in on-site creation, talks and workshops.
