I feel truly blessed and humbled through this experience this past week. 3 weeks prior to this event i was still unable to run, jump or bounce due to an Achilles injury I suffered earlier this year, and with perseverance and faith I was able to do what I love on our sports biggest stage. Normally I would take this moment to talk about me, but this post isn’t for me.
This one goes out to every athlete I witnessed this weekend. I was able to watch you all leave everything on the mats and in the rings for yourselves and your country.
We saw fighters and athletes from every corner of the world give their heart and soul to achieve their goals. Some athletes accomplished those goals and some fell short, but the most beautiful part to witness was the sacrifice. Sacrificing every ounce of themselves from the preparation to the fight itself to find the greatness in themselves. This is for you. Every single athlete who participated this past week your voice and your heartbeat was heard. There’s more to all of this than sport and I am grateful to be apart of it!
Lastly, My brothers @gttb.ty@wbaileymurphy@tyreekesaint . I’ve seen each of you sacrifice more than others will ever know to be here and reach our goals and WE DID IT! WE DID IT AGAIN!
