Rising Sun: Hecto CI development THE CHALLENGE
Hecto has rapidly grown on the foundation of B2B services such as mobile number protection, simple payment management, and virtual account solutions. As the company prepares to transition into a B2C platform powered by technology and data, it faced the need to move beyond a growth-oriented message—such as the ambition of becoming a “100 trillion KRW hectocorn”—and establish a brand identity that conveys its philosophy as a life-tech company. Amid rapid business expansion, a key challenge was to reinterpret the existing corporate identity and build a contemporary brand image that could be applied consistently across its subsidiaries. THE SOLUTION
CFC interpreted Hecto’s brand value—supporting customers’ everyday growth through services embedded in daily life—as the metaphor of a “rising sun each morning.” The rising “O” was developed as a distinctive visual motif, combined with a bold palette of orange, symbolizing passion, and black, to create a confident and dynamic brand impression. Extending from this solar concept, a cohesive visual system was designed—ranging from small glyphs to large-scale frames—ensuring consistency across all subsidiaries. Through this approach, the life-tech brand identity was fully realized, delivering the message of “Empowering Everyday” in a clear and intuitive way. Factorial BI development THE CHALLENGE In 2024, IGIS Asset Management, a real estate asset management company developing commercial and office facilities, set out to launch a smart office brand tailored to tech company users. The goal was to differentiate from conventional office brands by integrating advanced technologies—such as AI, IoT, and 5G from Samsung Electronics, along with robotics from Hyundai Motor Group—while offering refined amenities aligned with the work styles and lifestyles of millennial professionals. THE SOLUTION Taking the name Factorial—defined as a space where possibility (0) meets idea (!) to create something new (1)—CFC translated this idea into a dynamic logotype that echoes the logic of mathematical notation. The symbol playfully depicts creative individuals from diverse fields coming together, breaking boundaries, and continuously innovating—visualized as a witty character running from 0 to 1. This adds a layer of wit to the smart office brand. The character extends into pictograms used across the building’s signage system. Inspired by the principles of pictographic writing—the origin of human language—these pictograms bring a sense of wit and lightness to the Factorial brand. CFC redesigned the corporate identity of SIMPAC in 2025. The project aimed to reinforce SIMPAC’s credibility as the No.1 company in the press machinery sector while establishing a new brand identity that encompasses its expanding portfolio from B2B to B2C. The identity reflects the philosophy of Simple & Compact, a principle that has long defined the brand. CFC restructured the CI, which had remained largely unchanged since 2002, and rebuilt it through a simple and clear formal language that expresses SIMPAC’s future vision. The circular ‘S’ symbol represents the continuous movement of machinery and the End-to-End industrial structure spanning press, metal, scrap, and automation. It visualizes a cycle in which the end of one process leads to the beginning of another, expressing circulation and sustainability. The logotype, built on a wide-proportioned sans-serif structure, conveys a solid and stable impression, while the distinctive details applied to the ‘i’ and ‘p’, derived from the geometry of the symbol, introduce a contemporary character. Graphic units expanded from the symbol connect and transform organically, materializing the values of SIMPAC. CFC further extended the identity by establishing the visual direction for sensorial and realistic 3D assets, translating SIMPAC’s technological capability into an intuitive visual experience.
