New Light Collective in Concert! On this Friday, we will be back at @stjpiccadilly , premiering @leomccormack ’s music and doing group improvisation collaborating with the @rcmlondon Composition Faculty! Know more about the piece: The first thing that I noticed about this new ensemble was the approximate pitches of the found percussion items. Although I didn’t want this to be an explicitly microtonal piece, I did think it would be interesting to try to capture non-standard intonations across all of the instruments. The fast pace is essential in exploiting these intricate deviant pitches. During improvised sections performers are invited to actively play with intonation. 📆 8 May 2026 (Fri) 🕰️ 13:00-14:00 📍 St. James’s Church, Piccadilly Free admission (no tickets required)

I am very delighted to share my recent success at the @ulsymphony Concerto Competition earlier this month! ULSO was one of the first orchestras I have played in the UK and I had the pleasure to lead some of the most exciting repertoires - including my first Petrushka, Also Sprach Zarathustra, Le Poème de l'Extase, and Bartok Concerto for Orchestra. Cannot wait to be back and work with the orchestra soon!

Lucerne Festival Academy – Know what you are going to experience at the Academy Here’s a glimpse into my unforgettable experience at the Lucerne Festival Academy in 2024 and 2025! Performances: Rehearsals are intensive and rewarding, with sectionals and tutti led by outstanding tutors. The cello section was coached by Markus Hohti and Eric-Maria Couturier from Ensemble Intercontemporain. Most concerts take place at KKL Luzern, alongside special performances in unique venues, like the outdoor Jukebox concert across the city. Learning and chamber concerts: Masterclasses, improvisation sessions, and guest-led workshops, plus unforgettable performances at the lakeside Buvette and Ark Nova—the world’s first inflatable concert hall. Having fun! We enjoy a scenic boat trip on Lake Lucerne and a festive closing BBQ, with free days to explore the city or even hike Mount Pilatus. World-class concerts: Berliner Philharmoniker, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and Wiener Philharmoniker and more often for just CHF 20 or even free, and Berliner Philharmoniker dress rehearsals! If this excites you as much as it did me, I wholeheartedly encourage you to apply! If this interests you, I encourage you to apply. Feel free to message me with any questions! 🎶 An excerpt from Max Bruch’s Acht Stücke, Op. 83 : II. Allegro con moto. Composed in 1910 for his son, these set of eight pieces are perhaps one of the most well known and widely performed pieces for clarinet trio. The clarinet and cello are often in equal importance, with the piano playing a role largely in accompaniment in many of the pieces. These character pieces are not composed in a conventional sonata form or variation in that sense. We performed a selection of these pieces in this recital with the rest of our programme, as Bruch has intended for these to be performed as miniatures rather than a whole set of eight pieces.

Lucerne Festival Academy – Be Part of the Lucerne Festival This Year! @lucernefestival As a two-time member of the Lucerne Festival Academy and an ambassador of the Academy this year, I am excited to share that applications are now open for instrumentalists and conductors! Dedicated to contemporary repertoire and founded by the legendary composer-conductor Pierre Boulez, the Lucerne Festival Academy and the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra welcome their new director, Jörg Widmann this year, as well as works by Mark Andre, Liza Lim, John Adams, Frank Zappa, Steve Reich, and the Academy’s former director, Wolfgang Rihm, among many others, with Elim Chan and Baldur Brönnimann also on the podium. A major highlight of the festival will be a tour to Germany, with performances at the Berliner Philharmonie in Berlin and the Isarphilharmonie in Munich, alongside concerts at the festival’s resident venue, KKL Luzern. Over the past two years, beyond enjoying the breathtaking scenery of Lucerne, Switzerland, I have gained far more than “just” experience in contemporary music. World-renowned conductors, soloists, and composers conducting their own works offer rare and invaluable insights. Hearing composers such as George Benjamin and Beat Furrer rehearse and explain their music from the podium is just exceptional and unforgettable! The Academy is further enriched by experienced tutors from world-class ensembles and orchestras, including Ensemble Intercontemporain and Ensemble Modern, as well as masterclasses, where the Arditti Quartet discussed their work with Pierre Boulez in 2025!
