I pulled out my one of my favorite samplers in my collection. This one (the original/reissue) is getting more rare as the years go by. This #sampler can have a clean or a colored/dirtier sound depending on if the filters are used. You can really hear how the #drums punch through the #samples. I pulled out the #Akai #mpc2000 classic and this was the first #floppydisk I put in. The 2000 sounds like it has a little more grit than the XL. The hi-hats are crunchier and have more high end frequencies...It was released in 98 after the #MPC3000 and two years before the #MPC2000XL. I'm more of an XL guy cause of all the additional features that it came with. Plus, it was easier to #chop #samples with. #boombap #hiphop #hillprop97 #harddrums #japanesejazzfusion #vinylrecords

I’ve never really seen any #boombap made on the #akai #mpx16 before, so I decided to document something. The sampler has #mutegroups #filters ‘#normalize and #chops and #looping #reverb …. No sequencer though. It’s not really a heavyweight #sampler and has definite software issues, but you still can do your thing with it if you sample everything in.
