It’s finally here! Happy first day of Cape Breton Island’s 2026 Waterfall Season everyone. 🎉 From May 15 to June 15 we’re celebrating 17 incredible waterfalls across the Island (plus a secret one you need to find 🕵️♂️) with four weeks packed full of events, challenges, prizes, live music and so much more.
It all kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, May 16th, for our Island-Wide Waterfall Weekend. 👇
🥾🌿 HIKE - May 16th, Join one of our local ambassador group hikes! All hikes begin at 10 am. Meet at the waterfall trailhead of the hike you choose. Please arrive before 10 am. All trail details can be found on our mobile app and website. (linked in bio)
🎻🍔 CELEBRATE- May 16, After your hike, head to
@bigsprucebrew for an afternoon of live music, local food and good company! Featuring
@musicmaryfrances and a Cape Breton square set with Good Crowd, eats from

@trickdough_hfx . The
@highwheelercafe will also be there slinging pastries, baked goods, cold brew & lemonade, plus a vintage market to explore.

‼️ Before your hike, be sure to download the Visit Cape Breton Mobile App (now available on the App Store and Google Play) to access your Waterfall Season Passport so you can find trail information, participate in challenges, scan waterfall signs and enter to win prizes. It is important to download and log in while you still have wifi and cell service before you hit the trails!
