APRIL 17 2026. A benefit for Kelsey & Shelby.
To keep it short, Kelsey & Shelby are the kindest and most understanding people I know. Shelby and Kelsey are Columbia veterans & without either of them, most of what we now call the scene would not be present.

Anyone who knows my wife, Kelsey Benthall, would tell you that she is one of the most amazing people they’ve ever met. She has a refined ear for music, a driving passion for her career as an entomologist, and a deep appreciation for popcorn and a good (or bad) movie. She loves learning a new board game with friends, or you can find her online supporting her guild in World of Warcraft or dropping a 500kg bomb on my head in Helldivers 2.
Just like she did in our hometown of Columbia, MO, she loves supporting our community here in Muskegon, MI. That might mean attending local festivals, spending her Sundays handing out food and supplies to people who need it, or doing something completely off the wall, like jumping into the mosh pit at a local show. Kelsey says “yes” to life. She has a knack for helping others and always finds a way to have a great time doing it.
Between the dates of February 2nd and February 4th, 2026, Kelsey suffered two strokes and a heart attack. She was eventually diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder now known as GPA (formerly Wegener’s Granulomatosis. In her case, it developed extremely fast and aggressive, which led to severe, rapid blood clotting.
