‼️Registration deadline has been extended to June 1! ‼️ 🎨 Calling all artists and creatives! In sponsorship with @_hpartscouncil the High Point Public Library is seeking local artists and creatives to create an original artwork on canvas inspired by the theme: “Find Your Joy in the Library.” Individual pieces will be displayed together as a collective mural-style installation, representing the diverse experiences and voices within our community. 🖼️ Any member of the High Point community is welcome to submit a piece. Entries by those under 18 require a parent or guardian signature. ❗You may register and pick up your canvas any time before June 1. Finished pieces are due by July 1. The High Point Public Library and the Unwind Stitch Club are pleased to announce our Crochet Amigurumi Classes! This series of three crochet classes teaches Amigurumi skills. Each class builds on the previous for a comprehensive experience. Participants should be able to single crochet easily so they can learn skills to build on the basics previously learned. This class isn’t a beginner class. Space is limited to 10 attendees (ages 13 to adult), so please commit to attending all sessions. This presentation focuses on the basic steps of African American Genealogical research and the movement of African Americans throughout the United States. It explores a number of consequential migrations, from Africa to the transatlantic Crossing of African Slaves and the Great Migrations to the Southern Migration in the United States, that helped reshape culture, politics, and economic structures.
