I’m Dr. Roger Matthews! 🏔️ I grew up in Boulder, CO, where scrambling the Flatirons, backpacking to alpine lakes, and running the Bolder Boulder taught me early on that movement is medicine. As a lifelong athlete—through team sports, running, and bike racing 🚴—I’ve seen how daily motion shapes health. I’ve also learned from the other side: injuries gave me a firsthand view of just how overwhelming healthcare can feel. For 25+ years, I’ve volunteered in search and rescue—whether rescuing injured adventurers with Park County SAR, tracking lost persons with my dog 🐕, or deploying with Colorado Task Force One to national disasters. These experiences continue to ground me in service and resilience. At Highpoint Direct Care, I want healthcare to feel different: unhurried, personal, and tailored to you—not dictated by insurance or generic guidelines. 🩺✨ I’m excited to keep adventuring, learning, and practicing medicine—and I look forward to walking alongside my patients on their own journeys. 🙌

I’m Dr. Teddy Bross! 📍I grew up in Ohio but discovered my love for the mountains while working summers on a ranch in Wyoming. That passion for adventure still fuels me today—both as a family physician and as a mountain ultra trail racer. 🏔️👟 🔨🪵🔥 I’m drawn to big challenges—like completing the Nolan’s 14 (14 peaks over 14,000 ft!) or building a Finnish-style sauna in my own basement. 🩵🪻 Right now, my biggest adventure yet is just getting started: my wife Hailey and I are expecting our first kiddo this November. I can’t wait to see the world’s small wonders—like spring lilacs or a sunrise along the creek—through a his eyes (it’s a boy!). 🩺✨ As a physician, I’m passionate about helping people live fully—whether that means optimizing athletic performance or simply feeling your best day-to-day. I believe in personalized, empowering care that makes sense in a world of overwhelming, one-size-fits-all advice.

Honestly, chills listening to Dr. Teddy Bross reflect on pacing David Roche during his Leadville record runs. It’s easy to see the headlines and the finish times, but hearing someone who was actually out there with him talk about what that day felt like, the moments where things almost unraveled, the consistency behind it all, and the way David kept showing up over and over again… it gives the whole performance a completely different weight. Especially knowing he came back and did it again the next year. Such a cool conversation about excellence, persistence, and what elite performances actually look like up close. 🎧 Full episode with Dr. Teddy Bross on For The Long Run.

Runners get really good at convincing themselves they’re probably fine. A little more tired than usual. A few weird workouts. Lingering soreness. Stomach issues that keep popping up. Most people keep training through it because they’re still functioning, still showing up, still technically healthy… until eventually something forces them to stop. Dr. Teddy Bross talks about that reality so honestly in this episode and why the current healthcare system can feel incredibly hard to navigate for endurance athletes who live somewhere between “totally healthy” and “something is definitely off.” Loved this conversation with Teddy about athlete health, recovery, low energy availability, ferritin, and what it actually looks like to support runners long term. 🎧 Full episode on For The Long Run.
