This event is all about giving back to the ones who serve—active duty, veterans, and first responders—right here in our community. GIVEAWAY PART 3: THE RIDE Day 1 was just like any other High Flight Ride. Everyone meets at the house and gets settled into their rooms. We strive to give the most elevated backcountry experience, which means the best food, lodging, and experience possible. James was conspicuously given the master sweet with an expansive view of the Rockies. The next morning we loaded up and hit the mountain. Even though it was 60 degrees and sunshine, we still found some snow and had a blast. Heading down from the mountain was just like any other ride—except this one had a little surprise. When we got back to the trailer, James’ family was there waiting along with the local Fire Department and supporters. The giveaway sled sat shining in the sun. A beautiful 2026 @polarissnow 9R 155” snowmobile fully kitted with @thomasracingfactory skid, @iceageperformance arms and rails, @proarmor protection, @ridefoxpv suspension, @bikemanperformance_snow can, @nxtlvlclinics bags, and the most patriotic @arcticfxgraphics we could fathom. We celebrated, we cried tears of joy, we ate a big sous vide steak dinner as a High Flight Family. The next day James put the sled through its paces back on the mountain as we found some steep and deep with @nxtlvldan . The weekend was perfect. Mountains, camaraderie, brotherhood, family. James served our country as an Army soldier, carried the weight of loss no one should have to bear, and came home to continue serving—first in law enforcement, now as a firefighter/EMT. Today, he’s fighting a different battle alongside his wife Janice as she takes on stage four cancer. But more than anything—James embodies what it means to be a High Flight Hero. Selfless. Steady. The one who shows up for everyone else, no matter what. The kind of man who defines camaraderie, brotherhood, and what it truly means to be there for others. When Janice nominated him, we knew. What he didn’t know… was that this wasn’t just another High Flight trip in the mountains of Winter Park, Colorado. With the Jackson Hole Hillclimbs being cancelled this year, we decided to pivot and surprise our Hero winner on the mountain. Surrounded by friends, family—and even his parents who flew in from Minnesota—we got to give something back to a man who’s given so much. This sled isn’t just a giveaway. It’s a thank you.
