HIGH FIVE IF YOU READ THIS

I was really scared to do this, and kept pushing it off. As soon as I stood there and lifted the sign, strangers started approaching with big smiles on their faces, and the fear disappeared immediately—it genuinely felt so good. I got high fives of all sorts during the hour and a half I stood there, even including high fives (or high paws I should say) from a couple of dogs, which is something I could have not anticipated. In 2025 I challenged myself to high five a stranger every day. Spoiler: I failed 🫠 But trying was still loads of fun. It definitely lead to several unexpected moments. And some learnings as well. Here’s a little recap :) Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2026 🚀 (Also full of high fives) ✋🏻

I took my summer break so seriously that I accidentally also took a break from recording high fives with strangers in the second half of July, and that’s a pity cause June’s completion rate was my highest yet—83% 🥲 Gotta keep going though! [July stats] ✋🏻 High five count: 20 📝 Completion rate: 38% (12/31 days) 🔥 Longest streak: 6 days [Some thoughts] - I continue being positively amazed by the high % of strangers who agree to appearing in the video when I tell them about my random challenge. - I admit I feel more comfortable asking for high fives when I am abroad or to foreign people when I’m in my country—something I to work on. [Some random anecdotes] 👓 My 7-year-old glasses broke, and the optician had the exact same model. My joy = immediate high fives with the two employees who helped me. 🏃🏻‍♂️ One stranger this month turned out to be someone I had already high fived at Barcelona’s marathon—small world! I’m particularly excited to be posting this cause June was the month with the highest completion rate so far of the HIGH FIVING STRANGERS EVERY DAY challenge wohooo—am I allowed to use that as an excuse to why the video took so long to be ready? This monthly recap features Primavera, a spontaneous London getaway for a crucial mission, an adventure in Latvian lands and of course many many many contagious smiles. Make sure to watch until the end to spot the furry surprise 🐈 [June stats] ✋🏻 High five count: 43 📝 Completion rate: 83% (25/30 days) 🔥 Longest streak: 8 days in a row [Some thoughts] - I’m sooo so happy the completion rate was so high five this month! - More than a thought, a warning, cause groups of strangers should know that if they ask me to take a picture of them it’s extremely likely they will get asked afterwards whether they want to become my high five of the day—a win-win situation I’d say? [Some random anecdotes] 💃🏻 I was casually walking the streets of Riga on my way to a museum when I heard some music coming from a food spot.
