I’m into relaxed, groove-heavy house music — Balearic, deep, and lofi-leaning stuff.
Early DJ Seinfeld (back when he was going by Rimbaudian), DJ Boring, Ross From Friends… that whole wave.
Also really into labels like Pampa Records, Lobster Theremin, and Rhythm Section — anything with that warm, slightly dusty, soulful feel

UK garage: soulful house that became bass-heavy and street-oriented in London.
It grew from New York’s house scene, especially the legendary club Paradise Garage, where soulful, swinging house music was shaped by DJs like Larry Levan. The term “garage house” itself came from the club, while producers like Todd Edwards later became a huge influence on the sound.
When that sound reached England through pirate radio and club culture, it merged with Jamaican sound system culture in London’s Black communities. With heavier bass, shuffled drums, faster tempos around 130 BPM, and strong influences from R&B and Jamaican dancehall, it evolved into UK garage.
From there, UK garage connected with hip-hop culture and eventually gave birth to grime—defined by distinctly British-accented MCs and stripped-back, bass-driven beats.
Later, artists like Burial, Joy Orbison, and Disclosure helped bring the UK garage spirit back into modern electronic music, each in different ways—from darker underground sounds to more melodic and mainstream crossover styles.
That opened the door for a new generation such as Conducta and Interplanetary Criminal, who pushed the current revival by reconnecting classic UK garage grooves with today’s club culture.

What horse do you like the best?
Porsche? Ferrari? Lamborghini?
nah… it’s always a R&S Records horse 🇧🇪
R&S Records is a legendary Belgian label founded in the mid-80s by Renaat Vandepapepeliere and Sabine Maes.
Starting as a techno and rave imprint, it quickly became one of the key forces in shaping European electronic music.
Early releases defined the sound of techno and breakbeat culture, with artists like Aphex Twin, Joey Beltram, CJ Bolland and Human Resource pushing things far beyond the dancefloor. They found Japanese artist like Ken ishii chizawa Q and so on too.
Including Selected Ambient Works 85–92, a record that turned rave into atmosphere.
Later, the label kept evolving — from harder techno and club pressure (like Surgeon, Redshape, Randomer), to more emotional and experimental directions that still feel forward-thinking today.
R&S is not just a label. It’s a moving frequency.

I love 90s UK rave especially breakbeat hardcore.
In a different context from American house and techno, rave culture developed across Europe. The early ’90s UK scene was something else entirely.
Rooted in the Second Summer of Love, acid house twisted into breakbeats and heavy sampling, giving birth to breakbeat hardcore. Reggae and sound system culture, carried by Jamaican immigrants, was already deep in the DNA.
Born out of economic downturn, distrust in politics, and a generation escaping through cheap MDMA pills and illegal rave dancefloors, the sound was raw, fast and unpredictable.
From there, it evolved into jungle, and eventually drum’n bass.
I got heaps of XL Recordings classics, Metalheadz…

Dance music, at its core, was born out of Black American culture.Respect them!!!
By the 1970s, disco had already defined repetitive, groove-driven music for the dancefloor. In Chicago, Frankie Knuckles and others pushed it forward into house using machines like Japanese drum machine, the Roland TR-808.
Meanwhile in Detroit, Juan Atkins, Derrick May ,Kevin Sanderson developed a more mechanical, futurist sound—techno, shaped by post-industrial decay and sci-fi aesthetics.
With Underground Resistance, it became more than music—political, militant, and uncompromising.
From The Haçienda to Ibiza, and DJs like Laurent Garnier, the sound spread across Europe.
just put heaps of Detroit stuff on discorg.check them out or come dig in melbourne.
