This was Ann’s dream child, a multi-day concert high (8200 feet), in the Sierra, not to be missed! This morning my oldest son, Dylan sent me a text about a new band he discovered and was stoked on. It was Bela Fleck. Ironic that the young are discovering what Ann turned us on to so many years ago as we travel to say goodbye to her tomorrow. A great lady who accepted us young snowboarders with open arms a few years before this pic was taken, bringing my now wife (of 25 years), Bonnie, Tom Burt and myself into The North Face family. Thank you Ann for all you’ve done for us, we’ll miss you.
In August, High Camp had a great time with TNF RD&D group climbing, hiking Giant Sequoia groves, camping and rafting on the American River. After a fun day of activities, as with so many trips, the group was well fed by master chef Billy McCullough. Along with TNF athletes (Peter Athans, Austin Smith and Griffin Post), the group returned to camp with high energy and kept going with camp games. People gathered around the campfire late into the evening while enjoying cold beverages. We love the energy and look forward to more!

July 16-18 High Camp helped plan and execute a TNF footwear testing excursion near Downieville, CA. Long time TNF athletes Peter Croft, Pete Athens, Kit Deslauriers and Hilaree O’Neill joined the group for a few days of activities. As with so many High Camp trips over the years, 5 star combat chef Billy McCullough provided amazing food and Tahoe based badass Emily Turner created and managed a festive and comfortable camp. Here at High Camp, we can’t express enough how much we love Billy and Emily, the people who really make things happen to create a special and unique experience. If you’re lucky enough to catch Billy or Emily at an event, be sure to ask them about their own grand adventures!

For the second consecutive year, Protect Our Winters brought their Riders Alliance to Squaw Valley to learn from the best scientists, climate experts and other guest speakers to become greater warriors against climate change. Individuals from all over the world traveled to Squaw to learn the state of climate change, what's been done well to fight climate change, what we can do as individuals to fight climate change, what others can do, and how we can all get more involved.
High Camp helped organize this great event so that every participant could focus on learning and having a great time. High Camp arranged everything such as guest speakers, activities on mountain, food and beverage, lodging and transportation. At High Camp, we're always looking to reduce our carbon footprint and fight climate change.
