As many of you might know, I was coaching at US Figure Skating’s Developmental Camp last year in Wichita, Kansas. We lost so many of our very talented skaters, coaches and family members on Flight 5342. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about all of them.
We are holding a fundraiser at the Orpheum Theater in Chatham on May 7th. There will be a panel discussion with Nancy Kerrigan, Paul Wylie, the current US Junior Men’s Champion Patrick Blackwell, former US Junior Champion Louann Donovan, and Doug Lane (the father of Spencer Lane, whom we lost on the flight)
It will be a very powerful evening where we will discuss what it takes to get to the top of figure skating and how passionate our young athletes were. There will also be an auction with signed Olympic memorabilia, Cape Cod Experiences such as wine tastings, private skating parties, and a few more surprises.
100% of the ticket and auction proceeds will go to The Legacy Fund. The fund supports US Figure Skating’s young and upcoming skaters. It provides assistance with travel costs so they can attend these camps that can help them fulfill their dreams.
Please consider attending if you are able. It would mean the world to me and my skating family. Thank you! Mark
This is going to be an amazing competition put on by friends at Lower Cape Figure Skating Association!
There will be an all star panel of officials, with many National, World, and Olympic judges and technical specialists.
The skaters and coaches will be able to get feedback to help get them ready for the NQS season. It is also a great opportunity for Excel skaters to get feedback and increase their scores for the second half of the Series. Plus…the club is full of welcoming and enthusiastic people who I know will put on a great event. Sign up for it if you haven’t already! It’s going to be a fun weekend!!
Cheers to a successful 1st annual Open House! Thanks to everyone who came by last night. Lots of fun and looking forward to doing more wine tastings this winter. Stay tuned! #hollyfolly #winetasting #provincetown #ptown #food #picnic #perfectpicnicnyc
