We are thrilled to announce that your two favourite dark genderfuck techno rituals have joined forces to honor every body, identity and spirit that wants to get HIGH and enjoy SKIN CONTACT – and we get a CONTACT HIGH just thinking about it! CONTACT HIGH occurs in proximity to an altered state of consciousness typically associated with psychoactive substances, but also found when meditating, experimenting with sleep deprivation, fasting, delving into kinky practices to reach subspace or, as in many traditions, dancing for hours in a trance-inducing repetition of movements. CONTACT HIGH is characterized by changes in perception, cognition and emotion. Reality may be perceived differently and thought processes can be altered, offering new perspectives and insights that can help exorcise death and live life in a more fulfilling way. CONTACT HIGH is an ancient magic initiation that we can consciously hack to build moments of shared joy and pleasure, thus building the foundations of communities driven by awareness, solidarity and compassion. This is not so much about individual expression as a collective journey in which everyone aims to reach an altered state together; the ego is suspended and a sense of one’s individual existence is left behind, leaving a feeling of shared liberation. Similar to food and water, CONTACT HIGH is essential for our life, as it fulfills the need for belonging, intimacy and self-identity. CONTACT HIGH is an invitation to defy norms and taboos, dance skin to skin, and create a space where collective release is the only purpose that f*cking matters. Last on our DJ agenda for next week (!), but most certainly not least, is SKIN CONTACT co-founder and Berlin club living(dead)-legend @unhumangr ⚡️ Manos Simotas, the mind behind Unhuman and the label Liber Null Berlin, began experimenting with noise and industrial music in 2012. He continued to explore various genres, including power electronics, dark ambient, and experimental electronic music, before finding his unique voice in techno. A mainstay of major clubs in Berlin, including regular DJ sets at Berghain for the BITE Records [@bite_records ] showcases, Unhuman [@unhumangr ] has performed across Europe, Asia, and South America. Unhuman proudly holds artist residencies at Volnost in Seoul, South Korea, Olam in Bratislava, and KHIDI, the famous techno club in Georgia, Tbilisi. Not only a DJ but also a sound engineer, producer, and instrumentalist, Unhuman has a multifaceted approach to music. He co-founded Nostromo, a band with EBM artist Sarin, and formed Aktion Mutante with the infamous Violet Poison, releasing an LP on She Lost Kontrol Records. His latest and most active project is with the queer activist performer Petra Flurr [@p.flurr ]. They released two 12” LPs, the latest on Bite Records and embarked on tours worldwide. Our next craze-inducing shedevil on the decks needs no intoduction, get your claws up for queer club legend @mazedk__ 🔥⛓️‍💥 Maze DK is a Polish DJ and producer based in Berlin. Her sets are dark, fast, and hard, built around the industrial sounds of broken machinery with an acid sprinkle on top. She takes listeners through powerful and energetic dance rituals, plunging them into a raving state of consciousness. Recently released her second EP Remnant Craves on which she blends between experimental, industrial, techno, EBM with strong dark and cinematic atmosphere and can be recognisable by strong basslines, punchy kicks, noisy percussions, dark drones and futuristic, other-worldly ambiences. Next up on the agenda at CONTACT HIGH is our resident-devil, techno enchantress, @yyongying ! ⚡️ YONG YING is a Berlin-based DJ originally from Hong Kong, known for her ability to create captivating dance-floor experiences. With a unique blend of techno, industrial, broken beats, experimental sounds, dark raw textures, noise and EBM, her sound explores themes of emotion and identity, creating a mysterious, immersive experience on the dance floor. This blend of narrative and movement reflects her diverse background and the vibrant cultures that influence her artistry. She believes the dance floor is a sanctuary for shared exploration and profound connection. She [ @yyongying ] has performed at clubs like Tresor, Oxi, About Blank, MO1, SchwuZ, and Watergate. Their participation in Berlin’s queer nightlife and subculture has been inspiration and motivation for their artistic practice. Abstraction of sound, repetitive movement, meditation and excess. In the past they’ve delivered sets for HIGH, Slime, Art bei Ton, Golosa, Interzone and Tr4nsR4ve. Ego|n [ @ego_n_aufloesung ] is also focusing on live sound performance, where they’ve been successfully showing works in collaboration with other artists, for example for CTM or Vorspiel festival.
