We narrowly escaped the storms that rolled through tonight.
For just a few minutes, dark rain clouds to the south mixed with the sunset and turned our skies strawberry pink.

Every once in a while we see an animal on the trail that needs our help. Today, we helped this Florida Softshell turtle who had gotten flipped over on her back. You have to be careful with these, they have a very long neck that will reach around to bite you if you aren’t paying attention!

2026 Summer Camp registration is now open, and we could not be more excited to have another group of kids out on the ranch this summer!
We’re offering three sessions this year for kids ages 8–16:
Session 1 — June 8–12
Session 2 — June 22–26
Session 3 — July 6–10
The times are Monday through Thursday, 9am–3pm and
Friday from 9am–12pm.
Each session is limited to 12 campers, so it stays small, personal, and a whole lot of fun. Spots are filling fast, so don’t delay! 😄

One of our trail guides mentioned last night that she couldn’t find the book she had brought to work. This morning, we found it in the nesting box for our chicken, Bunny. We couldn’t figure out how it got up there. (Yes, we have a chicken named Bunny)
Then later today, I walked into the office and caught Bunny red-handed! (red-feathered?) Mystery solved!
We had George Cardoso out at the ranch this week for a full desensitization training session. Leaf blowers, pool noodles, tarps, and everything in between.
George spent decades as a mounted police officer training horses and riders for some of the most high-pressure environments imaginable. @g.card0763
