A message from @BigTakeoverMag founder @RealJackRabid :
Once again the big news is that Big Takeover issue number 98 Spring 2026 issue is at the printer now, from completed sessions in Brooklyn, NY and Oakland, CA this month!
The issue stars beloved, still-going, ageless indie-rock pioneer @David.Gedge of The @WeddingPresent in our big cover story (w/ a great cover 📸 by longtime contributor @Tinnitus_Photo ) , plus part two of our equally long interview with @EdKuepper and Ivor Hay of Aussie punk legends @TheSaints73to78 , plus other lengthy interviews with similarly long-serving underground veterans @BrokenSocialScene , Bevis Frond , @HeavenlyIndie , and @DIIV , plus newer bands @The_Telephone_Numbers , SLIP~ons/Strong> @SlipOnsVancouver (ex- @_._DoughboysMusic_._ ) , and @Sungaze !_Official!
Plus there are shorter chats with @dearyBand , @SqueezeOGram , @Metric , @TheTwilightSad , @TheBlueHerons_Music , @TheMessthetics , @HiHatchie , @Railcard_Band , @TheTammy_Shine_Rocks and Dahlmanns!
And a special “list” article from our own Jeff Kelson: “My Top 50 Albums of the 1990s”.

HHBTM is so happy to welcome Go Public to the label. Go Public is a mutant disco post punk band from Atlanta, Georgia, featuring Sean Rawls (Masters of the Hemisphere, Still Flyin’), Adrian Finch (Masters of the Hemisphere, ex-Elf Power), Sam Gunn, and Jay Domingo. Their debut album ‘You Are Traffic’ is out on July 24th on vinyl and digital and currently available to pre-order via the HHBTM website or bandcamp. The first single “Becoming a Stranger” dropped recently at Austin Town Hall. FFO: Maximum Joy, Pylon, the Fall, and Liquid Liquid. So excited to share this awesome record with everyone and to work with Sean and Go Public.

Welcome to HHBTM! So happy to announce HHBTM will be working with Philadelphia, PA’s @bestbearmusic on a new album for 2027. New video and tour dates in stories. Huge thanks to @austintownhall for debuting the video this morning.
HHBTM Records is so honored to announce the release of Black Swan Network ‘The Early Music Vol. 1’ on vinyl LP on June 5th, 2026. (There was a slight delay due to RSD pressing logjam). This release will be on all digital platforms thanks to @elephant6_recording_company . This album is an extended version of the HHBTM singles club 7” from 2000. Side one of the album is the singles club single while side b is unreleased recordings from the same era of home recordings that took place between the hiatus of the Olivia Tremor Control and the formation of Circulatory System. The album comes on black or clear vinyl and the deluxe version which I’ll be sharing all the different parts of over the next week is fully sold out. There are still a few clear vinyl in felt cloth sleeve versions available at the site but there’s only 8 of those left. Huge thanks to @rkwasman who Will trusted his huge archive to to help organize it. Huge thanks to @casperfandango who did the amazing mastering job on this. Huge thanks to longtime friend and Will’s wife @greentypewriter for keeping this project together and for being available not only to layout the artwork but to check and approve the many stages along the way. Huge thanks to @hernanzig who did production and layout work for the die-cut inserts, obi strip, and retail promo posters. In true Elephant 6 style, it was a fully collaborative project to honor, in my opinion, one of the most important audio and visual artists of our generation. I can’t wait to share the other parts of this record this coming week with deeper details into the packaging and some stories that mean a lot to me. This is one of the releases that means a great deal to me label wise and I hope it will be one that finds its way to all the people who will feel the same about just how magical it really is. - Mike
SPILL FEATURE: WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT WE ARE - A CONVERSATION WITH DAVID GEDGE OF THE WEDDING PRESENT

@MusicHallOfWB , great to see this smoking lineup of Leeds, UK-originated indie jangle rock pioneers @WeddingPresent (who will be @BigTakeoverMag cover stars for our upcoming issue 98) return to the same Williamsburg venue for the 35th anniversary of 3rd LP Seamonsters (produced by the late @Steve.Albini ) after seeing the Weddoes play a fantastic show for the anniversary of excellent 2nd LP Bizzaro last May.
Founding & only constant member Mancunian singer-songwriter @David.Gedge has achieved excellent musical chemistry with @RWoodMusic 🎸🎤, who Gedge referred to as the “Mad Professor” for her psychedelic-tinged guitar sound sculpting contributions, @Chris_Hardwick_Music 🥁 (formerly of @MyLifeStoryUK ), and Stuart Hastings on bass, bringing new dynamics to the entire LP while also playing an assortment of material from the band’s long career, including two new songs, all with the rush of Gedge’s signature chugging jangle strum guitar (in the tradition of influences The Velvet Underground, Buzzcocks, & Orange Juice and in turn influencing many UK & US indie rock bands), with his conversational baritone vocals as he explores the sweet & sour moments of floundering romance in his acutely honest lyrics.
Here’s an extended clip of the finale (no encores at Wedding Present gigs) of “Brassneck”, the opening track on Bizzaro.
Don’t miss this Wedding Present tour, which continues through North America in April & May!
