Maybe a bit too far sometimes but overall a really nice show. After the onslaught of images I enjoyed @jamesgilberd_photospacegallery casual confident dump of 20 years of test / work prints in 14 boxes.
I’m a sucker for these books that are about a road or street. Well researched and well written, like this one, they are gems. Reminds me of Bernard Levin’s A walk up 5 th avenue or any of @petercudlipp lovely chip dry observations wandering around NY. (They should be a book but we may have lost him to classical music through his fab podcast. Classical for everyone). Hat’s off Simon @ahiaruhe . I loved it.
1st 2nd and 3rd in the Commonwealth games of recent memoirs. An Englishman, a kiwi and a Canadian. All joined by burning ambitions to succeed in countries foreign to them. I’ve often thought how underpinning the ‘American century’ was the unbelievable stories of mostly impoverished immigrants desperately striving, fighting, starving and some dying to get to the promised land. When this ejaculation of immigrants washed up on the fertile fields of unbridled capitalism the America we recognise was born. Something Trump could well do to consider as ICE runs rampant. Hats off @keithmcnallynyc@benshewry two guys operating at the highest levels of hospitality. Having dined at both your places I understand why I loved them even more.
