We loved getting to serve our community by connecting with the residents at The Hamilton’s Apartments and revitalizing the teacher’s lounge at Holland Middle School in East Downtown. 🎨 Huge thank you to every volunteer who gave their time, energy, and heart. We’re in the city, for the city, and for His Kingdom. 🙌❤️

The greatest love story? 👉 Jesus choosing you, knowing everything about you.   Jesus meets us right where we are and offers us a brand new life in Him.   That kind of love changes everything.

🛑 Stop trying to help from a distance. Sometimes loving people sounds like: “I’m here.” “Talk to me.” “I’ll be there in 10 minutes.” Real love moves toward people in their pain. Jesus did it for us - and we can do it for others. Meet people where they are even when it’s uncomfortable, inconvenient, or messy. That’s what love does. 🤍 Comment FIXING and we’ll send you the full message.

“You’re going to make it through this.” Somebody needs to hear that today.   Pain can make you feel isolated, forgotten, or stuck under dark clouds that will never move. But God is near to the brokenhearted, and He has not abandoned you.   This message from Job reminds us that sometimes the most Christlike thing we can do is listen longer, love deeper, and show up for hurting people. 🤍   Comment FIXING and we’ll send you the full message. “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

Every hallway, classroom, playground, and worship space tells a story of God’s faithfulness. ✨ Because of your generosity, Houston’s First is where families can breathe deeply, feel cared for, and grow together in Christ. Ministries like Thru the Roof and The Oaks are reminders that there is room here for every family to belong and be loved well. The best is still ahead! As we step forward through Kingdom Come, we’re excited for even more lives to be changed, more community to be built, and more families to discover hope here. Thank you for being part of what God is doing here. 🙌 Comment KINGDOM for more information about Kingdom Come.

Imagine if thousands of believers showed up across our city in love and service. 🇺🇸   As we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, our Houston’s First family is stepping out across Houston for a day of service - meeting practical needs, loving people well, and living out the heart of Jesus in our city.   Whether you serve at one of our organized projects or choose your own way to make an impact, every act of kindness can point someone to the hope of Christ.   ❤️ Let’s be known for how we love.   Comment AMERICA for more details and to sign up to serve!

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. - Proverbs 31:26 To every mother, grandmother, and spiritual mentor: your words are a blessing and your kindness is a light. We celebrate you today! Happy Mother’s Day. 🤍

Mother’s Day doesn’t feel the same for everyone… and that matters. For some, it is full of joy and celebration. For others, it carries grief, waiting, loneliness, or memories that still ache. ✨Maybe you’re longing to become a mom. ✨Maybe you’ve experienced miscarriage or loss of a child. ✨Maybe you’re exhausted in this season of motherhood and running on empty. ✨Maybe you miss your mom deeply today. ✨Maybe you’re a spiritual mom who has poured into others faithfully for years. ✨Maybe your children are grown, gone, or distant and your heart still carries them deeply.   And wherever you find yourself this Mother’s Day, God sees you there. Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” God is not distant from your pain. He is near in the waiting. Near in the grief. Near in the exhaustion. Near in the prayers you’ve prayed over and over again. You are loved. You are seen. And your story matters to God. 💛

What do you do when life doesn’t make sense? When everything falls apart… and you don’t know why? The story of Job reminds us: faith isn’t proven in comfort; it’s formed in crisis. Even in your “9:02 moment,” God is still with you… leading you toward healing.   Comment CRASH and we’ll send you the full message.
