**shhhh** We have a secret cinema. Every month, Destroyed is bringing you the best in underground and cult films - from kung fu epics to psychedelic masterpieces to feminist revenge flicks to Bollywood bashes to black horror - and the best part is you won’t know what you’re walking into. We keep it fresh, lively, and in the style of a good old fashioned movie house. No Marvel here, just snacks, drinks, and a film. Keep following for details, and don’t worry, we’re still running the Destroyed Cinema + Music series. Underground Cinema for Underground People.
CASTRAITION Pt. I & II are finally coming to Victoria BC.
BC’s own Louise Weard’s epic-yet-intimate transgressive masterpiece-in-the-making is playing across two Sundays back-to-back at the Intrepid Theatre on June 7th and June 14th.
Doors at 2:30, movie at 3. Tickets on Gigpit. 18+. 15$. 40 seats. Link in bio.
Anthology I - Michaela ‘Traps’ Sinclair is a trans sex worker trying to get by in Vancouver while also mentoring her recently-out friend Adeline and making an attempt at pursuing actual motherhood. Meanwhile, lowly production assistant Turner finds himself dangerously spiraling into inceldom as his current relationship implodes.
Anthology II - In a trans separatist cult called the Polygon Angels, Circle lives in a New York basement, subsisting on ketamine, therapy-speak, and the comfort of never facing the outside world. When Circle tries to leave, she’s pulled between the cult’s suffocating safety and a crass “ex-nonbinary” woman named Keller who offers escape—at a cost.
While there is interplay between each part, they are largely narratively stand-alone.
Weard explodes contemporary ideas of filmmaking, gender, and social politics while leading with love in tandem with her awe-inspiring indiscretions. There is stuff in here you’d never imagine would make you cry. We are beyond excited to share this magnetic postmodern opus with you. These films have put an absolute fire in me and are a signal that cinema is heading in a direction truly vernacular, uninhibited, and punk as hell.
“A trans story by us, for us, and about us” - Louise Weard
Content warning: explicit unsimulated sex scenes, transphobia, misgendering, transphobic and homophobic language, ableist language, self-harm, and references to sexual assault and suicide. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.

IN THE GLOW OF DARKNESS'S WEST COAST PREMIERE AT @cinecentafilms ON APRIL 16TH AT 6:30 PM.
Intersecting stories unfold in the cyberpunk city of San Zokyo, where a young hacker takes on the corporation behind Meme, a drug that mines users’ psyches to deliver personalized psychedelic trips and hyper-targeted ads. Moving between paranoia, satire, and something more disorienting, the film taps into the logic of the feed and pushes it somewhere stranger.

Bennett comes out of the San Francisco Art Institute, where he studied under George Kuchar. His earlier films, including Why Are You Weird? and Planet Heaven, track a distinct DIY sensibility shaped by internet culture, performance, and low-budget experimentation.
In the Glow of Darkness is his fifth feature and his most expansive work to date.

Destroyed has joined forces with VFF to bring unconventional cinema, music, and events to the forefront.
The final of our three VFF events is at United Commons, formerly the First Met, on Feb 15th 2026, a Sunday.
Come see the Canadian premiere of @madvalon 's sophomore feature CAMP - I rank it amongst the best films I saw in 2025. I don't want to give anything away - but words that come to mind are striking, human, lost, fog, vernacular, girlhood, and divine.
The director and some of the cast/crew will be in attendance!
Before CAMP, we'll be playing the awesome @bikeshortmovie from Vancouver.
Afterwards, we’ll have sets from femme dream punk supergroup @ghostdarling_band and noise rock superstars @jesus.horseback . As you're coming in, they'll be some lush ambient music provided by @rainynighthouse
Doors at 6 (we may adjust this to earlier based upon ticket sales!). Movie starts at 6:30~. Bands after. Tickets at the door, or on the Victoria Film Festival website (linked in bio). 15$ plus the VFF membership which you can get online or at the door for 2$. We got a liquor licence for CAMP, so its 19+.
