#Happy10thSC2
To the game that changed my life.
(2)I started out amongst the lowest tier of players, fueled by curiosity, kept working at it and practicing and learning, eventually played in my first LAN competition and somehow miraculously managed to do well enough to spark the start of a journey.
(3) won my first qualifier to represent Singapore for the first time internationally, in Japan. Also the first time I traveled for free!
-that was when I realised I also wanted to have a career that was people-centric and connecting people, sharing stories etc, and made my jump from law to comms.
(4) the local scene was booming then, we even had a rivalry amongst the 2 biggest teams in SG. Funnily of which, my good friend stands lead on the opposite side. #AnimeStorylines
(5..) In the following years, my passion for the game and the community was never died out. I kept at it, and started playing in international tournaments, meeting so many people I idolized. Got more opportunities to go to even bigger tournaments like dreamhacks in Spain, Sweden etc.
But most importantly I made invaluable friendships that helped me grow so much as a human being.
How close to heart I hold the moments I've shared with people who inspired me so, special s/o to
@followgrubby and
@lorangerchris :')
Tbh, I've said idk like 3,4 times that my journey is over, but with SEAgames last year and even more opportunities coming up, it seems like I won't be hanging up the mantle just yet. With whatever time I have left outside of the daily, I'll keep at it.
Point of this post... That I'm grateful and thankful for Starcraft2 and the experiences ive made from it.
And to anyone with that flame in your heart towards that passion, dedicate yourself, and fight at it, even if you're not the best in the world or top 50 even. It doesn't matter because the experiences that come with the journey is what makes it more valuable than anything money can ever get you.
