The year is 2X99. LILY LANDLINE, a communications intern for a space agency called GAL-X, is sent on a mission to guide a cadet across planet Venus. On top of navigating the environmental challenges that Venus—the most hazardous planet in our solar system—has to offer, Lily is also tasked with answering every call from viewers watching at home...
Venus Mission 99 was a film idea I had for my senior year thesis project. After dealing with some family medical issues in 2024, I wanted to make a film that captured the feeling of juggling a million things at once (albeit in my very own loosely expressive way). I eventually decided midway through the semester that instead of rushing a film into completion, I’d make a proof-of-concept trailer highlighting its visual style.
I’m pretty happy with how it turned out and maybe if a bunch of people really liked it, I’d consider developing a complete version of the film. For now though, I’m eager to move on to new projects and ideas. I hope viewers can appreciate this project for what it is and will look forward to what I make in the future!! (^_^)
