i was so hyped for my birthday this year; more than usual (and i love having birthdays). i know itâs just a number, but we all know the pressure society puts on this specific milestone (especially in women lol). but the closer it got, the calmer i felt. i have zero doubt that the best years are ahead đ

this is where mixing gets really fun for me: taking different elements from one track and weaving them into others; chopping a vocal back in at different lengths; creating small breaks âď¸
thatâs one of the reasons why i enjoy playing this genre so much: creating something completely new by using different elements of a track. and when everything clicks into place, thatâs when the dopamine kicks in lol đ§ââď¸

thanks for the attention, but itâs not enough. not even close.
we want to walk home at night without sharing our location. we want to be heard when we are (rightfully) angry, without being dismissed for âoverreactingâ. we want to be on lineups without the whispers from the side, claiming we only got there because itâs âeasierâ for a woman (spoiler: itâs not). we want to exist without our appearance being a constant metric of our competence, or something that is even up for debate.
and we could go on forever.
we donât mind the flowers. weâll take and appreciate them. but more than a bouquet that withers in a week, we want a real commitment:
a true promise that we all do the work, men, women, and everyone in between, to ensure that we are all safe, get equal chances and treated with the same respect and VALUE.
