After learning the cover and lead single was influenced from the 2002 film Paid In Full I wanted to try and push the idea of “Paid” and “Full”. So I leaned into making menu and food related spreads while also staying true to the original direction and film. Whether it was the brown paper bag with delivery tickets or food menus replaced with cash food items, I wanted to create an album packaging that felt cohesive yet original. Had fun working on this despite most of the packaging never going live.

Sometimes you gotta go for it. The first time I saw @kamsoofunny on @killtonyshow I became an instant fan. He brought such a raw and unique energy that cut through. Watching his growth has been inspiring and it gave me an idea so I put it into action. Kam’s been killin’ it and since his 2nd debut on KT “I like rocks” went viral. He broke through the noise and hasn’t stopped. I thought “damn, he’s really Killa Kam” and just jumped into photoshop. That’s when the other ideas started flowing and before I knew, I had a key art concept for a potential comedy tour (or special) campaign at my fingertips.
So I put together a pitch I sent it to his manager earlier this year, to my surprise I got a response. I was stoked just for it to be seen by his team and potentially Kam himself. Still grateful for the responses. It had been a few months, contact had fizzled out. I didn’t know if he ever saw it. So I decided to share it. To my surprise again he saw my last post and replied to my story. At this point I’m just stoked as a fan that he saw it and “rocked” with it 😅. I do hope we get to work together someday.
This all stemmed from the love of comedy and the opportunity to help as a fan. So just a reminder to anyone (including myself)
1) Do what brings you joy.
2) You’ll never know if you don’t try.

This opportunity showed me how much connections mean in this industry. Often talent isn’t a make or break if you’re the right person for the job. It’s just about showing up and doing the thing to the best of your ability and you might just get a chance. Even if you’re using busted equipment, not a shooter by trade, or whatever the circumstance. Just show up. You never know what can happen.
