I made my largest etchings to date (48x36 in.) with @paulsonfontainepress a bit ago, inspired by Henry Fuseli’s famed painting “The Nightmare”. Very proud of these works and so grateful to the team to help me realize them. .inquires to @paulsonfontainepress

Victoria Miro, Lehmann Maupin, and Perrotin are pleased to announce Hernan Bas: The Visitors, at Ca' Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art (@museocapesaro ) from 7 May. The exhibition presents more than 30 new paintings in an immersive installation conceived specially for the museum. Drawing inspiration from Venice, a city uniquely attuned to tourism and continually shaped by its consequences, @HernanBas has created a new body of work featuring tourists in scenarios across the globe, both imagined and real. With the fundamental disconnection between these 'visitors' and the worlds they traverse, Bas exposes the absurdity of iconic clichés of tourism. Part of this new body of work was created whilst the artist was in residence in Venice, in close contact with the lagoon, its light, its paintings and its tourists. Hernan Bas: The Visitors is curated by @ElisabettaBarisoni and is organised by Ca' Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art, Venice, in collaboration with Victoria Miro, Lehmann Maupin, and Perrotin. Happy birthday to @HernanBas ! This 2022 painting by the artist is currently on display at the @NortonMuseumOfArt in West Palm Beach, Florida in the exhibition ‘Strike Fast, Dance Lightly: Artists on Boxing’ through March 9. The work is part of his Conceptualists series in which Bas depicts fictional conceptual artists engaged in eccentric—and often obsessive—creative pursuits. + Stay Tuned: We’re presenting a solo exhibition of new work by Bas at our Seoul gallery, opening in early April. “sea-fan-fan” now available. Edition created to benefit the Bass Museum of Art, Miami. All proceeds go to the museum. Inspired by one of the works in my exhibition “The Conceptualists” (on view until May 5th). this hand held fan will aid in providing an “ocean breeze” on those hot summer nights. Each fan is unique, hand assembled and constructed using real coral “sea fans” mounted to the frame of a traditional wood folding hand fan, painted with acrylic and airbrush. (It doesn’t fold fyi, that would be a challenge!) the base is cast aluminum hand painted in acrylic and the fan tassel is hand dyed. Edition of 15. For inquires contact [email protected]
