I feel their power and strength and I want to share this energy with you. I invite you to join the dotslover club and mark yourself with this beauty of spots: big or small, black or brown, soft or rough, mild or harsh, round or oval, textured or solid, but let’s let them be spontaneous, random, messy, arbitrary, chaotic and wild. Exposition collective de résident.es, membres actifs, et autres Gamutien.nes.
Sur la colline, Gamut s’est aggloméré avec ce fort, comme collectif, comme respiration, comme refuge.
Depuis 7 ans artistes, artisan.nes, musicien.nes accrochent ici leur sensibilité à l’épine d’une ronce, à la corne d’une chêvre, au creux d’une pierre.
Un jardin de campagne prolifique au sein de la ville. Ce qui réunit les artistes de cette exposition c’est leur plaisir collectif, leur volonté de choisir le partage au jugement et le besoin de s’unir.
Celà dénote d’une certaine sensibilité que l’on ressent dans les œuvres, une générosité, un intérêt pour l’autre, pour la nature, pour une certaine magie.
Cette exposition est un petit monde de tension et de résolutions, de villes et de paysages, d’ancien et d’avenir.
Sur la colline, on peut voir la ville se gonfler et se détendre au rythme de sa respiration, écouter le chant des sirènes qui se glisse dans les crissements des trains de nuit.

Here is a game of combining archaeological finds realistic yet unpredictable with abstract elements and textures. Sometimes I take these elements from ancient cultures of the Paleolithic/Neolithic/Bronze Age, and sometimes from my surroundings, such as cracks in walls or textures on stones. I like this play between ancient ways of seeing and modern everyday life, and I like their similarities. In both cases there is a metaphorical abstract dimension that excites the imagination.

We played this round with Lera, inspired mainly by the Cucuteni-Trypillian culture - the culture that existed in her native land (Ukraine) and mine (Transnistria).

Quel est le meilleur mois pour récolter du miel d’araignée ? Pourquoi un fauteuil a-t-il des pieds et des bras, mais pas de tête ? De quelle couleur est le vide ? Combien de notes y a-t-il dans le craquement d’une coquille d’œuf ?
Y a-t-il un sens à de telles questions ?
Oui, ne serait-ce que parce que nous sommes capables de les formuler. La métaphore est un instrument unique de connaissance ; elle rend poreuse la frontière entre la pensée et le monde. L’exploration humaine de nous-mêmes et du monde commence lorsque, en découvrant cet instrument, l’humanité crée son premier mythe.
Le premier événement de la série RIPE STONES GATHERING explore le protomythe comme manifestation initiale de la métaphore, et la métaphore comme prolongement de la création mythique dans la vie quotidienne.

What month is the best for collecting spider honey? Why does a chair have legs and arms, but no head? What color is the void? How many notes in the eggshell’s crack?
Is there any meaning in such questions?
Yes, at least because we are capable of uttering them. Metaphor is a unique instrument of cognition; it makes the barrier between thought and the world porous. Human exploration of ourselves and of outworld begins when, upon discovering this instrument, humanity created the first myth.
The first event of the RIPE STONES GATHERING series explores protomyth as the initial manifestation of metaphor, and metaphor as the continuation of myth-making in everyday life.
