So that’s a new one eh? The new Atom from @ecdlax has inspired some new thoughts and techniques in the @antrealax lab. You could argue this has a similar resemblance to other products on the market, and the truth is you’re not wrong, but hey, shut up about it! The idea was to make a ladder-esq style runner and fill in the gaps with crosslace. The side panels/vertical runners are formed from one section of line per side, so you know tensioning this thing sucked. Other things to consider was that I hated making this piece, didn’t enjoy stringing it, and it’s too deep. jUsT aDjUsT iT, again shut up. Two big thumbs up for the Atom tho!

Was inspired recently by @cowboy.strings knot mesh pockets, and figured there’s no time like the present to string up some knot mesh. I took note of a couple of things they had posted that were different from what I’ve previously done. For starters running the mesh narrow and connecting to the head using a single run of line and interlocks. Big fan of that method now! I’ve always tried to make pieces about full width, and if I can, I try to make it out of the head. But it’s nice for spacing if you can attach directly to the scoop, so there’s trade offs. Then knots. I’ve always doubled them, and I dislike that method. Took extra time tying two knots, and then they shifted when the mesh stretched which is meh. Doing single snake knots is much less time consuming and easier to adjust, you gotta lean into the stretch and anticipate some movement of the knots. Crosslace seems too thick for this many diamonds, this thing is pretty heavy, the shooting strings don’t help. It’s just barely depth legal but I predict it will stretch more. Knot mesh is always a cool alternative project that while it takes time, they’re cool sticks to mesh around with. Who has tried tying one up or playing with one? Let me know in the comments, I’m always down to talk knot mesh!

The problem is I’m too focused on mesh, not spending enough time on my (w)rap career. Another deerskin handle wrap this time in (3) bold colors! Can’t wait to show you all what’s on the other end…

Deer skin leather handle wrap on a Titan pro for your Monday feed! This took many attempts to get right and several hours once I figured out the process but I think it came out pretty goodly!

Been a minute since I posted a picture in front of the fence, fence season is so back bby. Just a fun one I’ve been working on lately, was going for a 5-hole Lite design but this one’s actually 6-holes across. Gonna keep trying on this design though, I guess, idk, maybe.

Since we’re posting goalie sticks, here’s where I’m at with Project [REDACTED]. No firm dates yet on release, I’d rather get it right than push out something subpar, but we’re moving out of the design phase into stringing/field testing. It’s April 3rd and this things no joke, but that bottom string is comical and needs to be changed. Happy Friday y’all!

Just know that when you’re mean to me, this is who you’re being mean to!
Have you ever been so obsessed with designing lacrosse mesh you decide to get the government involved? It has been quite the process to get to where we are today but it all started with some string and an idea. After months of trial and error, and a healthy amount of time spent with our legal team, we filed for our first design patent in July of 2023. Fast forward to yesterday and Patent Number US D1,118,786 S was issued in my name.
I am incredibly grateful for all of you who have been following this journey, whether you’ve been here since the hand knotted Kevlar days, or jumped in in the Future Mesh®️ years, I want to thank you and tell you all how much all of the support has meant to me over the years! You all are the reason I can’t stop stringing weird stuff! I’d also like to thank my wonderful family for all of their support, and for always being a sounding board for my nonsense.
Thank you all!
-Alec
