Cloud Forest
Part of my time in Taiwan was spent in the mountainous region: Puli Township. Met some really nice people there and experienced wonderful hospitality. Also climbed to the top of Hehuanshan Mountain East Peak, 11k elevation. Air was thin, steps were steep (900 of them) but the views were gorgeous. Plus the Rhododendrons were at peak bloom.
Ximending Walking District
Infamous Lane 96 street (basically graffiti alley) Unfortunately, during my visit all the store fronts in that lane were closed because they were filming a TV show. Actors and film crew all about. It was still fun to walk through and explore even though the shops weren’t open.
I spent the past week down in the Peruvian jungle at a plant medicine center. I made some good connections with both plants and people. On my final day I explored around in town a bit before catching my flight home.
Impromptu trip up to Seattle today to acquire same-day renewal on my passport. Had some time while it was being processed and printed. I walked around and enjoyed the sights, sounds, and tastes.
