Your Mayor…
For all the roles I have played, the one where I had the honor of being cast as the Mayor for the City of Los Angeles, was the one that prepared me for today. It’s always fascinating where art meets real life. I shot at City Hall back in 2020 and three years later, I got to speak at City Hall. If you had told my kid self that this would happen, I would never have believed you. It was a true honor to be representing my union SAG-AFTRA as well as all of us members who are standing in solidarity to get a fair and righteous contract. Union Strong on this Labor Day.

Working With Friends…

Closing out this staged reading with a full heart. This was such a fun character to embody. This role let me be weird, wild, and wide open in ways I don’t always get invited to be; and I loved every second of it. Unexpected, refreshing, and exactly what my creative soul needed. I have been trying to process today with no success. It’s been the most heartbreaking day I’ve had in almost all my life.
You came into my life from the first moment I laid eyes on you at the rescue, 12 years ago, and I was forever bonded to your little heart instantly. You shared your love with me every day, following me everywhere I went, even came into some sessions where you were the best ever. You always just wanted to be by my side, no matter the circumstance. You were my travel adventure buddy, traveling all across the nation even abroad. Those Yoda ears, that nose, your side-eye glances, leaning your snout on my leg begging for treats, the kisses you gave me when I asked for them or when I was around other dogs; was your way of stating your claim on me. And it worked! I was wrapped around your little paws and I wouldn’t change that for the world. I would do it for 100 more years if I could have. You are my forever baby! Words will never be enough for the incredible bond we had. I LOVE YOU. More than I think I could ever express. I have no words. This is not goodbye. It’s “Till we meet again”.
I will hold you tight in my memory. Enjoy your time running and playing at the end of the rainbow bridge my bubs and be with me always. With a Grateful, Broken, and Loving Heart… Rest in Peace.

What an honor to be a part of a night where actors and artists recognize other actors and artists. Bringing to life the Audio Description to the red carpet was fascinating and nerve-racking all at the same time. The speeches, the fun, the soul and the artistry all came together for this beautiful night! Also had the honor to thank some of our LAFD men who helped save our city! And best of all, I did it while hanging with all my dolled up friends! Of course I missed many in the crowd. There are no losers, because art is meaningful no matter who sees it or wins an award. Let’s keep spreading our artistry in the world. We all need it!

My heart is hurting to see so many people loosing their homes and all the memories in them. I’m sending love and strength during this time!

Chanse and I started the morning at Costco, checking off items that donation locations requested.
Next we stopped at Fire Station #84 at 21050 Burbank blvd, Woodland Hills, CA.
Then off to Hand Brewed Beer in Chatsworth to drop off the remaining items for those who lost their homes. @handbrewedbeer
We also made donations to World Central Kitchen and Pasadena Humane. @wckitchen@pasadenahumane

What an amazing honor to have been invited to give opening remarks at The Hispanic Foundation for the Arts in Washington DC this past week as the chair of the National Latino Committee at SAG-AFTRA. I was asked to talk about maintaining the integrity of actor performances in a world where artificial intelligence is on the rise. How do we work with the tool that is AI to amplify our stories and not erase our faces, voices and stories from generations past?
The opening at the Spanish Ambassador’s residence was special with the very talented Mariachi group.
The panels were such important talks to have. The topics: MisInformation Disinformation and Latino Voters as well as Authentic Latino Stories: How can real content about real Latinos drive change.
And lastly the Noche Musical and award presentation was inspiring to continue advocating the amplification of Latine voices in the media. Diverse stories matter. Our story matters.
