First time shooting Ferrania P30 film. This stuff looks crazy. Nikon FG 20mm & 85mm. Angelic apple tree shot was a cameo by @justineisthinking (and as usual was the best one on the roll 😍). Shots taken mostly at Sue Morse’s place after working her game cameras for bobcats and bears. 🐻
Benito and I went out to trace the maze of deer trails behind my moms house, looking for deer antlers. After an hour of walking and no antlers I was ready to call it quits and head home, but a long eared owl in a Bur oak gave me hope, and before I could change our tack, Benito found a deer femur. Encouraged, we kept on, winding deeper into the Prairie with the vision of a skull coming into mind. Eventually, Benito found another leg and then I found a third. By then, my vision of the skull included antlers and I could feel that we were close. And then, there it was, ceremoniously staged by coyotes, up on its antlers. The whole journey of searching, failing, following Small gems to an ending that was just as I had hoped, yet better, was a clear metaphor for my morning’s musings on the difficulties and rewards of the creative process. Thanks world, I owe you one (as usual). 🌳🌎🦌
