This beautiful art form involves using a hammer, mallet, or even a smooth rock to pound the color from the botanical matter onto the surface. This process, also called TatakiâzomĂŠ (hammering dye), is a traditional Japanese technique that has been used for hundreds (possibly thousands) of years."
