My daughter picked this song for me and it couldn’t be more perfect.
I’m a hand-builder and a wheel-thrower. These two mugs as one hand-built, one thrown are coming with me to the 42nd Annual Ceramic Showcase this weekend. Two techniques, one soul🌈They mix just right🤸🏻just like me.
@ceramicshowcase Catch me at the Community Booth alongside some of the most talented artists in the PNW and beyond. Over 200 potters, each with their own story, style, and fire. This show is proof that clay connects us all artists from every background, living and creating together. That’s what makes this country beautiful.

Good morning!
The forecast said rain… the sky said otherwise. 😂 Gotta love Pacific Northwest weather.
I’m bringing fresh planters today, each with a beautiful flower — this one comes with a gorgeous dahlia 🌸
Come frolic a little.
10–5 through Sunday. @damascusopenstudios
Meet Skutty ✨
My first full glaze kiln and officially headed to the studio space my friend so generously lets me use. She’s one ring bigger than my beloved Ruby. I miss her already, but honestly… I outgrew her a long time ago. Still the best first kiln a potter could ask for. ☘️
Heading into my 4th — and final — year on the @damascusopenstudios tour, and I couldn’t love my stop anymore as Ireland is on the horizon 🌈 and we hope to see you there before I go🌊
This stop is packed with magic:
✨ metal
✨ glass
✨ jewelry
✨ pottery
✨ and watercolor work so beautiful it once made me cry.
Come wander, connect, and soak in the art with us at stop number 2 🤸🏻🖤

A new chapter 🌿
As I prepare to move to Ireland, I’m also stepping into a new name…
Herbal Pottery.
For many years, my work lived under Herbal Earth Pottery—a name rooted in a life we built through our organic farm, The Earth That Gives, a certified naturally grown farm that shaped me deeply.
When that chapter came to a close, it did so under devastating and life-altering circumstances.
From that loss, I found clay in a new way. What began as grounding became healing… and what became healing became my path forward.
Now, as I step into a new country and a new chapter for my family, the name is shifting too.
Simpler. Clearer. Still rooted.
Herbal Pottery carries forward everything I’ve lived, lost, and rebuilt 🌻while making space for what’s ahead🤸🏻
Same hands. Same heart. New soil.
Thank you for being here through it all 🤍

Happy Monday as I’m kicking it with my new mug @bergeronian 🖤
Hubby tried to use it first🤣NOT!
@damascusopenstudios 🤸🏻☕️
A stunning dark clay body brought to life with expressive, flowing glazes crafted by Ian.
Come on the tour in just a couple weeks 🚗
Wild full-circle moment as four years ago I met Ian here when he was a customer, and now it’s his second year as an artist on the tour.
This mug is just a peak at his craft and Wow what a studio where it all come together 🖤

Cone 6 soda kiln loaded yesterday… soda ash sprayed today… now we wait 🔥 this is my all-time favorite firing is soda fire🤸🏻
Grateful to be learning this process in a one-credit class with master potter Chris Baskin is such an honor to be guided through the fire.
Soda firing (around 2232°F) is where chemistry and flame collaborate. As soda ash vaporizes in the kiln, it bonds with the clay and glaze, creating natural flashing, texture, and that signature orange-peel surface. We used some gorgeous flashing slips that will be more detailed in the unloading photos.
No two pieces are ever the same as it’s all about placement, timing, and the path of the flame.
Kiln stays closed until Friday as the whole class can’t wait for the reveal ✨

Happy May 🌿
Great times ahead🤸🏻come frolic, laugh, and share some good energy with us.
I’m so grateful to be part of these epic events at the City Farmers Market and the Damascus Open Studio Tour. This is my fourth year, and it just keeps getting bigger, better, and more full of life.
At Stop #2 this year, we have five incredible artists sharing their work with ceramics(mine☺️), fiber, glass, metalwork, and watercolor all coming together in one space 🤍
It’s always more than art as it’s connection, community, and a really good excuse to slow down and be present for a moment🖤
Come find us 🌿
@brianrooneyphotography my friend & photographer that does my professional photos has also joined the Damascus Open studio tour this year💗
Just finished pressing lavender in all the handles as The lavender comes from a farmer who has become a dear friend @loweslavenderfarm someone carrying an unimaginable loss. Her grandson lost his battle with cancer, and that grief is woven quietly through everything right now.
I made nearly a dozen of these for the market we’ll both be at.
As I worked the clay, Donovan‘s strength , remembrance, tenderness pressed in alongside the lavender.
These mugs are meant to hold warmth in more ways than one🥹
Im holding her, her daughter, his sibling, and all who will forever carry him💜
And in these final days in my studio, it feels especially tender to be making pieces like this to carrying love forward in a time of both ending and beginning.
Grateful for this friendship, even in the heartbreak 💜
there’s always something that you could do to support 💯Donate blood 🖤 pass up that Starbucks cup of coffee can send it to cancer research that was stripped away last year in America. even to your local funeral home as the devastation of cancer has devastating ripple effect even when the fighter is gone.
