When we met up with Molly & Ahmed for this engagement shoot, they mentioned right away that they had never done a “photo shoot” and were a little nervous. We walked with them to get coffee before we even started shooting, just to get comfortable.
We instantly fell in love with their energy and knew within moments that it would be laid back, easy and fun.
Ahmed was very proud of a free electric car charging station that he knew of so we started shooting there as they wrapped each other up with the hose 😂.
We took a quick stroll along Kitsilano beach and even walked by the wedding venue which really helped them get excited about their Wedding day.
After that, we set up for a quick picnic in the park and all shared a Diet Coke that they brought. We walked them home and got a few photos in front of their apartment. Turns out they had just bought a home and were moving right away!
We had so much fun hanging out with Molly & Ahmed that it was hard to leave. It was quite exciting receiving Molly’s email (last slide) as the feeling was definitely mutual.
That’s the beauty of these engagement sessions, it breaks the ice for the big day and we get to show up not just as photographers but as friends.
