THE WONDER OF LIFE ON EARTH. Written by me. But hey, just look at the lavish illustrations by Raxenne Maniquiz. Buy now to avoid the Christmas Rush. /authors/henry-gee/the-wonder-of-life-on-earth/9781035024247

I'm hardly the BBC Natural History Unit, but I am proud of some of the wildlife snaps I take on my daily walks.

To celebrate Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday, me, @rsusannahg and Posy the Pupperino watched Ep1 of 'Life on Earth'. Back in 1979 nothing like it had ever been screened. The 17-year-old me was transfixed. Like many of my generation, 'Life on Earth' was one of the things that propelled me towards science and was ultimately the inspiration for 'A (Very) Short History of Life on Earth'. Ah, the nostalgia! On the other hand @rsusannahg had never seen it before and was inspired to ask lots of questions ('Women In Stem!'). Posy the Pupperino liked it too. But then she loves wildlife dogumentaries and adores David Attenborough.

Am *I* experiencing Comprehension Deficiency? You're asking *me*? With my job I'd say it was an occupational hazard.
