South East Asia, Part 7: Cambodia The final leg of our trip 😢 We started our whistle-stop tour of Cambodia in Phnom Penh, where we visited one of the many killing fields across the country. I’d been warned that this part of the trip would be difficult, but I’m not sure anything could’ve prepared me for what I learned about this dark period of Cambodian history. Almost half of the entire Cambodian population was wiped out during this barbaric genocide, including women, children and babies. If you ever decide to visit Cambodia, it’s definitely important to visit and learn about. Siem Reap - our second stop in Cambodia - offered us a different view of history. Just half an hour outside the city, we were exposed to an ancient city of temples, headed up by the famous Angkor Wat. Sunrise at this beautiful temple was unforgettable - but not without event. Like clockwork, as the sun rose above the temple, I had to make a quick dash to the toilet 🤕. The culprit this time: a canned mocha… The show went on, though, and was ultimately stolen by a group of monkeys that were hellbent on stealing @peachysas ’s dress. The negotiation ended peacefully, though, with both leaving as friends 👩🏻🤝🐒
