I don’t normally post much (certainly not about this sort of thing) but it’s 14 years since my dad died and I’m in a reflective mood.
Maybe it’s having my own children who are about the age my brother and I are in this photo, maybe it’s not.
It’s complicated, surprising and always with you this grief feeling but today I remember the good times.
I’m still looking to you for your advice, asking you what you think and what you’d do all these years on, even if I have to speak to you in my mind now. Thanks for making me believe it is all possible, even when life gets in the way and keeps telling you to play it safe!! We miss you ❤️
Can’t believe it’s day 6 already of this superstar!
Ida Iris Norton Dennison burst into the world at 1.56am on the 29th November and we are so delighted.
She is an amazing little sister to Rafferty already and we’re all doing well. 💕
Watch this Ida shaped space!!
My amazing jigsaw-obsessed stepmum, Mo Mowlam, died 15 years ago today, 19th August 2005.
.
What would she make of where we are today?
.
Her bullshit meter would definitely be going off the charts... as a woman who believed in the power of democracy, women’s equality and our future being all about our young people - she’d be pretty raging right now.
.
She certainly would not sit back. She’d be reminding everyone how important their vote was in the upcoming US elections and she’d be telling me to get out there and speak out, march, stand up for what’s right, don’t just talk about it in your bubble.
.
With that in mind I’m powering on, determined to make my next documentary about her inspirational life and legacy.
.
I’ve been planning and plotting and writing my next film with the amazing @niamh.holmes throughout lockdown - working title ‘In Search of Mo’, so watch this space! I’m done waiting for a gatekeeper to give me permission to tell her story.
.
Thanks Mo, you continue to keep me fighting and hopeful, even in these immensely weird times.
.
We miss you!
