Rescue work does not stop when you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or even struggling yourself, because the animals still need you regardless.
Today, after receiving multiple calls, we rescued 8 tiny puppies, only a few days old, their umbilical cords still attached after being cruelly abandoned and left behind before eventually being brought to a local fire station.
These babies should have been safe beside their mother, not fighting to survive before they’ve even properly opened their eyes to the world.
No matter how heavy things may feel, moments like this are a reminder of why we keep going. Because if nobody shows up for them, they simply do not survive.
Right now, these puppies need round the clock care, formula, warmth, medication, and constant monitoring. Cases like this are heartbreaking, but they are also far too common here in Saint Lucia.
