In June 2024, we were deeply honored to be hosted by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland Central Province- Honourable Christopher Magomo, as a gesture of appreciation for the work we have been doing through Help a Child Save a Nation (HACSAN) @helpachildsaveanation01
That day, we added 40 children from 8 schools across Mashonaland Central to our scholarship fund. 40 bright souls whose dreams now have a chance to take flight.
I still remember when we started the scholarship fund in 2019 sometimes paying fees for just one child, sometimes five, depending on what we, as university students then - could save. But that day felt different.
It felt like hope was multiplying right before our eyes.
Because each child we help isn’t just a statistic they are the future of Zimbabwe. They are tomorrow’s teachers, doctors, engineers, and leaders.
And this moment reminded me that when you help a child, you truly do save a nation
Where it all began in 2015, just two years after HACSAN was established. We were privileged to have a remarkable team of volunteers who believed in our mission and chose to partner with us in making a lasting impact. We remain deeply grateful for their dedication and contribution to the vision of Help a Child Save a Nation.
The Help a Child Save a Nation tours are always the best tours ever! Each visit reminds us why we started this journey to bring hope, love, and opportunity to every child we can reach. This time we visited one of the schools under our scholarship program, about a 2-hour drive from the city. The welcome was absolutely heartwarming the smiles, songs and pure joy from the children always melt our hearts.
We were treated to such kindness and delicious food (they never let us leave hungry! 😋). Moments like these remind us that even the smallest act of giving can change a life forever.
