In Hamburg, a new help alliance project is creating space for young people to experience what democracy really means.
The help alliance project “Democracy Talents”, financed through a donation from @lhtechnik and implemented by @commonpurposedeutschland brings learning to life: through workshops, dialogue and real engagement, students explore how to form their own opinions in a complex digital world.
They don’t just learn about democracy - they experience it, question it and actively shape it.
Because strong societies start with people who feel heard, informed and ready to take part. 🌍

Der Frühling ist jetzt auch offiziell in Hamburg angekommen. Spätestens wenn die Nordstern Community (@help_alliance Hamburg) ihren alljährlichen Frühjahrsputz ankündigt, ist bei uns im Spendenlager die kalte Jahreszeit Schnee von gestern, und wir spüren die Wärme der vielen engagierten Lufthanseat:innen.
Diese Woche war es wieder so weit: Mit logistischer Unterstützung der Lufthansa Technik Logistic Services (LTLS) konnten Mitarbeitende ihre Spenden zugunsten von DER HAFEN HILFT! und @hanseatic_help in deren Außenlager abgeben. Es kamen wieder richtig viele Artikel zusammen, die wir nun mit derselben Wärme an diejenigen weitervermitteln, die sie dringend benötigen.
Hand aufs Herz: Wie gut ist das? Und vor allem: Das ist nicht selbstverständlich – weder die vermeintlich alltäglichen Gegenstände noch das soziale Engagement, eine solche Veranstaltung neben dem Arbeitsalltag auf die Beine zu stellen.
DER HAFEN HILFT! dankt allen Helfenden. Wir freuen uns schon auf euren Frühjahrsputz im nächsten Jahr.

Where sustainability becomes daily life 🌍🔥
In Uganda, the help alliance project "Green Future" is turning schools into places of real change.
Environmental education is combined with a major step forward: energy‑efficient eco‑stoves.
They use up to 60% less firewood, reduce harmful smoke and make daily cooking at school cleaner and healthier.
For students, sustainability is no longer abstract.
They experience how smart solutions improve everyday life - and learn that protecting their future starts with practical action.
This is how responsibility grows. And lasting change begins. 🌱
Two weeks full of learning, cultural exchange, and unforgettable moments. ✨
Six of our Start Technik Trainees spent time in Dehradun, India, supporting the Aasraa Trust together with @help_alliance . The organization’s holistic approach to education gave them deep insights into how children are empowered through learning and care.
During their stay, the Trainees visited the shelter homes and teached classes at the Skillabilty Center. Over the time, meaningful connections grew with both sides learning from each other and stepping beyond their comfort zones.
Outside the project, they discovered the many faces of Indian culture from riding Tuk Tuks, enjoying traditional Dosas, and joining a spiritual Ganga Aarti ceremony by the river.
A journey that showed how much growth happens when people meet with purpose and open hearts. ❤️

At the help alliance Sunshine Project in New Delhi, something simple turned into something much bigger.
Since 2022, visitors have been leaving their handprints on the wall - many of them Lufthansa Group crews stopping by during their layovers. What started as one wall has slowly grown across several.
Each handprint stands for time shared, conversations, and moments with the children.

Earth Day 2026 🌍
The help alliance project “Reefs Renew” in the Maldives shows how closely environmental protection and human life are connected.
On the island of Magoodhoo, children and families take part in environmental education and learn about the marine ecosystems that surround them. At Anantara, degraded coral reefs are being restored using innovative 3D-printed structures, helping marine life slowly return.
These reefs are more than nature - they protect coastlines, support livelihoods and sustain entire communities.
Earth Day is a reminder that real change begins when we reconnect with what sustains us. 🌊

This week, we welcomed the choir from our “Houses of Hope” project in Cape Town to Germany – as part of the Lufthansa 100-year anniversary and a very special visit for all of us at help alliance.
They performed at our OnSite Event in @lufthansaseeheim_hotel and also took the stage at the management event in Frankfurt – and truly left a lasting impression. Their energy and presence were something special to experience together.
Alongside the performances, they got a chance to see a bit more behind the scenes, explore new places and spend time with colleagues from across the Lufthansa Group.
A week we won’t forget anytime soon. 🌍✨
