“Largely because of its haunting beauty, the Mandelbrot set has become the most famous object in modern mathematics. It is also the breeding ground for the world’s most famous fractals. Since 1980, the set has provided an inspiration for artists, a source of wonder for schoolchildren, and a fertile testing ground for the science of linear dynamics.”
My sister is so clever. She copies words, skips letters, adds numbers, makes triangled daddies and mommies, and it makes all total sense. Once she even outlined her hands on the edge of the paper like a frivolous authorship. I admire the fluidity of her gestures; in her hands I believe in the redemption of images.
There is no moderate reaction to the center (of London(...). Each journey unrolls its carpet of fortresses throwing us back on an impossible rationalisation. It consequently undermines any potential political response; all that's left is a mouthful of Wows.
