some of my slides yesterday for @anoceanofrainbowstatic organized by @gaberaines . All of the acts were amazing. I feel lucky to have been able to share my research on Satie and Cage to a crowd of experimental musicians — when i wrote the piece i hoped i would have an opportunity for something like that. Thank you @1800_g_cadd for having us!

03/09 | XOR / eros + riot / CYSOME / Glyn Maier (DJ) | all day records XOR (AVL): multi instrumental Appalachian folk roots expressed through the tangle of modular synth wires - lush swelling ambient sounds not to be missed . . . . . Eros + Riot: anarchist performance ever in flux, experiments in anti-capitalist embodiment . . . . . Cysome: cyber paganism . . . . . Glyn Maier: if you can imagine a soundtrack to honey cow’s life, Glyn of enmossed weaves the eve together 📸 by XOR flyer de moi

Hello! This next Sunday, me and @hellsprout will be hosting Noise Karaoke at @thenorthsidedistrict in Chapel Hill. What’s noise karaoke? It’s just karaoke but me and Simone will be randomly fucking up the audio and vocals with effects pedals. Simone’s sister, Annelise, a dear friend of mine, will be undergoing a total hip replacement the next day. We will be raising funds to help offset her medical bills and lost wages during recovery. Come out, sing, and help us support our dear Annelise ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫 In honor of a legendary whisky janetor stl noise tradition Simone and tallulah bring it to NC bc Simone missed going so much it needed to happen here

I started playing music in the stl diy scene right at the tail end of when Stephen was filming at every damn thing like he had for years. I was lucky enough to go to one of the Swansea pond season shows, these are from the summer of 2017. May 28 I think. I didn’t know anyone yet!!! So many of us lack queer elders that make us feel part of something that precedes us, that led up to the point of our lives, makes things feel smaller than us and larger than us at the same time. I don’t know. I spy Glued, maybe Julio, I think Vanilla Beans had just played? Maybe that’s Stephen in the gazebo in that pink shirt he wore all the time. Idk - show yourself if you were here!! Rest in power Stephen. As things grow hellacious and fearful and memory gets thrown into some kind of weird digital bin, I hope many people can grow old and stay rad and document beautiful things. prove to us that our lives actually happened the way you did

Join us at The Cave on April 10th from 8:30p-12 for a night of music and poetry benefitting the workers union at UNC. $15 door, NOTAFLOF, with more ways to donate. We are fundraising to audit UNC Chapel Hill’s budget. UNC loves to plead poverty when we demand a living wage! With funds raised we will be able to call out UNC’s financials publically. We hope to identify sources of funding to allocate towards increasing stipends for graduate students and securing higher wages with better benefits and job security for other UNC workers. Learn more about our campaign on our Chuffed page. On the bill we have: Space Quaker Touring solo sans backing band, Robin Harvey is one of St. Louis’s premier rising singer-songwriter voices–and a union president in her locale (!) Space Quaker is all the energy the name contains: the rattling spirit of Quakers’ silent hymnals via indie bursting melody. Robin strikes the essence of a good folk song: personal tales that reach through the ordinary towards a great beyond that’s right in front of you. What’s familiar is always another world. Thresher Local NC experimental folk trio of pump organ, fiddle, and cello. Thresher visits compositions from the sacred harp tradition, but with alternate instrumentation. Mittens One of the triangle’s newest and sweetest DIY indie pop outfits, members of Little Chair bring you cozy tunes that still bite. Think that picture of Kirby with a knife, but maybe he’s got some Mittens on. MFT Uncompromising poems, uncompromising brown queerness. When X Ramos-Lara reads I meet the sacrilege of laughter, the impossibility of relief. A thrifted handbag full of glittering bricks, chucked through a tech startup’s glass windows. All the pithiness of To Wong Foo if it were penned by a Brown Beret. Terry Hudson We’ll be in the house of our area queer Black occultist when Terry casts word magic. Trawling bars like a creeping dye through NC’s too-often placid fabric. Poems spit from a vengeful gay deity with whom we make a temporary pact. Blaine Purcell poems so transcendent and mysterious, they evade description Flyer w/ @maybe_bean_milk /project/unc-union-financial-analysis
