The second day of Welcome to Rockville had some more awesome bands such as Suicidal Tendencies, Kreator, Carcass, Dying Fetus, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Cattle Decapitation! Easily the highlight of the day being Kreator, who’s set got paused halfway due to weather then continued hours later that night. Also happy I was finally able to see Dying Fetus live, who I intend on seeing again later this year!

Kicking off the first day of Welcome to Rockville ‘26, and easily the most stacked day of the whole festival. The bands I was able to catch were Dethklok, Cradle of Filth, Alice Cooper, Amon Amarth, Death Angel, Suffocation, Immolation, Castle Rat, All that Remains, and Fozzy. I’ve been wanting to finally see Cradle and Castle Rat for a while so I’m happy I finally scratched them off the list. Immolation and Alice Cooper were also highlight acts of the day, Immolation absolutely crushing and Alice being amazing as usual. My only complaint of the day was having Deicide play at the same time as Alice, of course I had to pick the Coop!

Finally saw my all time favorite band for the second time, and it was pure heavy metal magic! Such an amazing performance and I stood in disbelief at the quality of their stage setup, absolutely beautiful brilliant show! A lot of rarer tracks played such as the King For a 1000 Years, Hell Was Made in Heaven, and March of Time.. damn near teared up. Already impatient for the next time these power metal legends swing by, and you know for sure I’ll be there! 🤘🏻🎃

Thrash metal legends Testament, Overkill, and Destruction on the recent Thrash of the Titans tour. One of the highlight shows of the year so far with a top class triple bill. Special shoutout set being Destruction, my first time seeing them and the 2nd band I’ve seen from the Teutonic four of German thrash! Overkill was Overkill, speedy punky thrash never to be missed when they come by my area, and the wildest mosh of the night. Testament are fantastic, and in my opinion the top contender to be added to the big four of thrash metal with a very consistent discography. A lot of deep cuts, but overall still a great set. That new album kicked serious ass and the new drummer was fantastic live. A night of pure thrash!

Finally capping it off with the final, and favorite day from Hell’s Heroes VIII. The last day of this festival was a true masterclass in heavy metal mayhem! Highlight sets from the final day include Tankard, At War, Whiplash, Bütcher, Demon Bitch, Imprecation, Enslaved, and the epic Blood Fire Death Bathory tribute. Tankard, Bütcher, and Blood Fire Death being high contenders for why I bought tickets to this fest and they did not disappoint. Extremely excited to see what next year brings.. and I’ll see you all there! 🔥🔥🔥

Hell’s Heroes VIII day 2, and now we get the pits amped up! With some of the bands I saw that day like Power From Hell, Midnight, Toxic Holocaust, and Voivod having some good moshes throughout their sets. Some other highlight sets from that day included the mighty UDO, Sanctuary, Legendry, and Devil Master. Day 2 kicked total ass and had me very amped for the last, craziest day of the festival.. 🤘🏻

Day 1 of Hell’s Heroes was a blast! Highlight sets for me included Doro, Chris Holmes, 3 Inches of Blood, Hellbutcher, Jag Panzer, Leather, Coven, and of course Helstar. A few takeaways were the fact that out of the 2 time’s I’ve seen W.A.S.P., Chris Holmes has bested those shows in my opinion, his guitar tone was on point and the crowd was going absolutely nuts as I’d expect from a W.A.S.P. crowd. Also getting the opportunity to see Coven was fantastic, as they were an act I thought I’d never get the chance to see. Jag Panzer’s Ample Destruction has also been creeping up as one of my favorite 80s metal albums too. Day 1 kicked ass and had me fully amped for the next two days to come

Finally had the dream come true of attending Hell’s Heroes for the first time and goddamn what an amazing year to do so. Starting off with the pre-party I finally had the chance to see a serious bucket list band Cirith Ungol, and they did not disappoint! Other bands I was particularly excited to see that day were Warlord, Onslaught, and Cloak. Warlord was pure classic heavy metal goodness and Onslaught turned the place into a thrash madhouse! Insane pit and endless crowdsurfers, a good way to set up the mood for the rest of this kickass festival.

Finally had the dream come true to attend my first ever true metal festival, and having experienced it I couldn’t be happier to say that fest was Hell’s Heroes VIII! So many amazing bands that had me running back and forth one after the other trying to see as many as I could, such an amazing time. I will be making dedicated day posts soon.. I certainly will be back next year! 🤘🏻🍻
