Inspired by...
To celebrate the release of Wait this is a screening of films that have been an influence on my work. The programme will culminate in a preview of Wait which will be released online the following day. From drawn on film and pixelation to index cards and oil on glass, this is one big experimental animation party.
Someone said of Breer that he ‘took a considered yet light-of-touch approach to his films, infusing them with life and spontaneity’. All the films I’ve chosen, I think, have these qualities. Enjoy!
About our Host:
Award-winning animation filmmaker based in London. My Mother’s Eyes won Best Animated Short at Tribeca Film Festival 2019 and was released on Channel 4’s Random Acts. More recent work includes animating MUJI EU’s Christmas Campaign and a video for Tate Kids. Hoping to connect with people through storytelling and playful experimentation.
